Hump Day Poll: Your Childhood Go To's
Candy Edition! I was thinking about my Mom's 50th birthday party. It was a wonderful memory because I worked really hard on it and planned it for 9 months to make it great for her. Because she didn't have a 25th wedding anniversary, I knew I was going to go all out for her 50th. I had family, friends, people from high school, co-workers (ones I knew she liked! 😁) and I loved seeing her face when she would see people she hadn't seen in a long time. One of the biggest hits that people talked about for years after were the retro candy baskets on every table. I bought ones that I knew were her favorites as well as looking at what were popular at the time. People lost their minds and were squealing like kids when they saw their favorites. I got all of the candy through Candy Favorites website and it's always so fun to look through. I was perusing the site, I was thinking of what stuff I'd want in the baskets on my table for a party like Mom's: Cher...
I love Hawaiian sweet bread. I love it so much I can't have it in the house. I saw the sandwich rolls for the first time at the store last weekend though so I may bend my rule. I will eat one at a time, and have hubby hide the rest of the package from me.
ReplyDeleteYum! Hawaiian sweet bread is something I've forbidden myself from buying at the store since I started eating healthy. I've eaten small bits of it at christmas gatherings, but that's it. It's one of my weaknesses. When I was much larger one of my indulgences would be a big tub of spinach dip and a round of hawaiian bread. I could polish off over half a loaf. Mmmm.. So good. I think I could enjoy it in moderation with the small buns. Thanks for the suggestions!
ReplyDeleteWe love Hawaiian sweet bread too - I tend to make it from scratch though. ^^
ReplyDeleteYou may have all of my ration of Hawaiian sweet bread, along with that Nutella stuff you like. But the BBQ in the crock pot and caramelized onions sounds great!
ReplyDeleteThat looks delish! I cook my roast in the crockpot with BBQ sauce. We don't eat the sauce out of it, but the beef has a wonderful BBQ flavor. We shred it and lay it over half a potato with a bit of cheese on top. Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteHawaiian sweet bread is soo goood!!
ReplyDeleteHawaiian bread can be quite addicting which is why the wee rolls work well for us.

That bread is dangerous. My brother and his daughter actually got in a fight over it! LOL
