What I'm Reading This Week #28
Hello and Happy Friday my beautiful peeps! Well, I guess I'm glad we did the tree last weekend because just as we were getting ready to leave Monday for a nursery field trip, the HOA maintenance dude shows up- no call, no email, just hoping we were home with no real knowledge of what needed to be done. He chatted with the Mr, did a few caulks and took pics to get it submitted for siding replacement. After that we got on the road to go to this big nursery. Am I the only one that sweats off their sunscreen in sheets?? I swear I probably looked like I was having a stroke to passersby. So I bought some powder sunscreen for our faces hoping that will help. I was bummed this one great powder foundation I used years ago isn't around anymore since it had built in spf so I hope this stuff is comparable. Did a lot of stuff in the garden and it cracks me up how such a small space can take up so much of my time when I have chores to do. The Mr's ban...
It was nice to get out and walk and it was a good bit of exercise too. I was just plain sluggish after it though. Feel like I still need sleep.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice, too bad my legs just can't seem to handle any exercise these days no matter how low impact. I'm going to have to go back to rolling and arch massages 3x day. I need sleep too.
DeleteI graded some papers and watched a little Netflix. I have the same trouble with sunscreen. I have one that's better than others I've tried, Neutrogena clear face, but it's still not truly sweat proof. I'll be interested to see suggestions from your other readers.
ReplyDeleteYeah me too. I would love something that would stay put and not sweat my makeup off but not have so many chemicals that make it stay in place that I'm afraid to actually use it.
DeleteI do not know of any good sweat-proof sunscreen, and boy do I sure need it. I sweat all the time and I have since I was a kid, no matter what my weight was. I'm just naturally warmer than most females and I'm almost never cold when others are shivering. My head is drenched more times than not. Going through peri-menopause isn't helping either I'm sure. Last night it was my ABC shows after an 11 hour day at work. I was just toast mentally, so it was nice to just veg out for 2 hours before heading off to bed. Tonight I'm making breakfast for dinner and will be trying to keep one of my dogs from shaking out of his fur from fear of the lightning and thunder. He's just a wreck and has been wide awake since last night!
ReplyDeleteMy research has shown many say Blue Lizard is a good sunscreen that supposedly doesn't sweat off. I may have to try it because this Kiss My Face crap is, well, not good. I'm itching everywhere it was yesterday so that's a thumbs down for me.
DeleteI had mahimahi yesterday, too!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh, the sunscreen. It either drips into my eyes and burns the hell out of them, or it makes me look really greasy like I have oily skin and haven't showered for days, or it just doesn't work, and I still burn. I've yet to find a good sunscreen! ;)
I love mahi! It's how I got the Mr to eat fish. It's so meaty, he mistook it for chicken! HA!
DeleteYep, it does the same to me too. It's ridiculous and when on vacation we're always in warm climates so I have to wear it but then look like I just ran a marathon walking store to store. ERG!!
