What I'm Reading This Week #34
Hello you sassy beast! Ready for another flip flappin' fantastic weekend? Yes indeedy, Ally Sheedy. It's been a week of working ahead for me as I try to work on ideas for holiday posts. I know, no one is ready for Christmas but spit balling stuff is actually getting me excited for the season. I like to try to give myself the month of December off from writing new posts (except updating weekly happenings) so all I have to do is respond if needed. It lets me take a little mental break during the holidays to try to enjoy what I can then hop back into the new year hopefully rested and ready to roll. We did book our 30th anniversary trip, which is the same one we had to cancel this year and of course got travel insurance. It's just nice to have something to hopefully look forward to and it makes you go "where the heck did 4 1/2 years go?" because it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our 25th. Do people even celebrate their 30t...
You did a great job. It needed to be done too. I guess it's true about the whole spring cleaning mentality. We definitely need to tackle that basement and possibly put an air cleaner down there as well.
ReplyDeleteYeah it did. Maybe it was an attack of spring cleaning. Ugh, that basement is ridiculous. I just want to shake it out and start over sometimes.
DeleteRight now I have a wicked urge to clean and it's because I can't!
ReplyDeleteI'm in a walking boot with crutches so I'm kind of SOL until I can just use one crutch. I can still do some stuff like dust and wash my sinks/counters. But vacuuming and cleaning my entire shower won't happen for a bit =/
Aww man! I hope you heal up soon. Maybe if you trust a cleaning service, you could supervise while they do the deep cleaning for you?
DeleteYeah definitely not. Too frugal for that. Especially since who knows how much this broken leg bill is going to be, ugh.

DeleteSometimes I do wake up with the urge to clean, I usually go back to bed until it passes. Actually the urge usually strikes me when I should be doing something else that I want to do even less.
ReplyDeleteLOL...maybe I should've just laid back down! :-)
DeleteI wish. I have a real hard time getting motivated to do any cleaning unless company is coming! But once I get started, I go like gangbusters.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty much the way I am too, I need a reason which isn't good. I wish I went like gangbusters when I start. I do it begrudgingly.
DeleteI wish the spring cleaning bug would catch me!!!! I'm sure my husband wishes that too. LOL.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it didn't bite me again today, the place could still use some work. Beh.
DeleteI did that kind of cleaning the weekend before last. I tackled the bathroom, bedroom with all the linens, and the kitchen were I packed up a bunch of dishes to give to Salvation Army and purged a bunch of stuff I just don't use. My linen closet is how it should be now and all I have left there is to pitch a bunch of lotions I don't use. I love when I get in those moods because I'm mentally in the mood to get rid of stuff that normally I debate over like a lunatic. Now I have a couple of closets to tackle. I think I'm finally ready to get rid of the baby stuff I've had stuffed in there for over a decade. I took a small step a couple of months ago by giving away a stuffed animal and books from the theme I would have gone with to a friend of ours. I did ok with that, so I think getting rid of the other stuff won't be as hard. I tried to do it last year and couldn't do it. But I think I'm much closer to being ready now. And it'll completely open up the closet so I'll actually have some room! LOL
