Kickin' up dust from dawn to dusk

You'll have to excuse me, this post is going to be a little

Yesterday I got up and stripped the bed and got laundry going.  Before everything was done, I figured might as well dust, vacuum, change out decor and all that happy crap.  Then I ran the air purifier all day to try to suck up all the dust I kicked up.  I made the bed and we're good to go for the week.

Then I looked into the kitchen and got irritated with all of the dishes left from the weekend and holiday so I got to it in there.  Cake carrier, cookie plate, skillets, stock pot...all of it.  I still have a little more to tackle in there but made a pretty good dent.

The Mr got home and we went down pretty early to workout but ended up talking for over an hour down there.  I swear it's some weird habit we got into but with the previous day's events, we had a little more to discuss than usual.  We did Walk Away the Pounds Firm 30 with heavier weights so by the end we were toast.  Dinner was salmon and brussels.

Later the Mr was breaking down some boxes and decided to tackle my hoard pile of Amazon boxes downstairs I intended to use for shipping.  All that cardboard filled up his back seat so it was time for a recycle run across the street.  It kicked up quite a bit of dust.  We have to clean that basement sometime soon because we're in it every day and since I'm allergic to dust, sucking that in while I exercise is probably not the best thing.  With it being unfinished, it produces way more dust and lint.

Sigh.

Do you ever wake up with the urge to clean?

  1. You did a great job. It needed to be done too. I guess it's true about the whole spring cleaning mentality. We definitely need to tackle that basement and possibly put an air cleaner down there as well.

    1. Yeah it did. Maybe it was an attack of spring cleaning. Ugh, that basement is ridiculous. I just want to shake it out and start over sometimes.

  2. Right now I have a wicked urge to clean and it's because I can't!
I'm in a walking boot with crutches so I'm kind of SOL until I can just use one crutch. I can still do some stuff like dust and wash my sinks/counters. But vacuuming and cleaning my entire shower won't happen for a bit =/

    1. Aww man! I hope you heal up soon. Maybe if you trust a cleaning service, you could supervise while they do the deep cleaning for you?

    2. Yeah definitely not. Too frugal for that. Especially since who knows how much this broken leg bill is going to be, ugh.

      Here's another article for you:

  3. Sometimes I do wake up with the urge to clean, I usually go back to bed until it passes. Actually the urge usually strikes me when I should be doing something else that I want to do even less.

  4. I wish. I have a real hard time getting motivated to do any cleaning unless company is coming! But once I get started, I go like gangbusters.

    1. That's pretty much the way I am too, I need a reason which isn't good. I wish I went like gangbusters when I start. I do it begrudgingly.

  6. I did that kind of cleaning the weekend before last. I tackled the bathroom, bedroom with all the linens, and the kitchen were I packed up a bunch of dishes to give to Salvation Army and purged a bunch of stuff I just don't use. My linen closet is how it should be now and all I have left there is to pitch a bunch of lotions I don't use. I love when I get in those moods because I'm mentally in the mood to get rid of stuff that normally I debate over like a lunatic. Now I have a couple of closets to tackle. I think I'm finally ready to get rid of the baby stuff I've had stuffed in there for over a decade. I took a small step a couple of months ago by giving away a stuffed animal and books from the theme I would have gone with to a friend of ours. I did ok with that, so I think getting rid of the other stuff won't be as hard. I tried to do it last year and couldn't do it. But I think I'm much closer to being ready now. And it'll completely open up the closet so I'll actually have some room! LOL
