Non Scale Victories This Week

During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses.  I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses.  My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights.  Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through.  On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower.  I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. Yawn

I've stared at this page hoping something interesting would pop up.  Fact is, yesterday was just boring.

The Mr and I could barely walk yesterday from the previous days strength session.  We had to take a rest day because even walking was not in the cards.  Dinner was chicken tacos.

We rented Wild with Reese Witherspoon.  I don't know why but I just didn't connect with it. I expected to be a quivering heap of tears by the end and while I shed a few tears, I didn't care for it.  I understand why Reese got the praise for the role.

Then it was time to tune in for the series finale of Cougar Town.  I loved that show the first few years.  I'm too loyal and even though the past few seasons have kind of stunk, I had to see it through.  It kind of bummed me out and then the twist happened and I was a blubbering pool of tears.

On a better note, tomorrow's Friday!

Was your night as boring as ours?

  1. I actually enjoyed the movie but I can understand why someone would disconnect from it. It had a very non-linear way of telling the back story and that could have been done a little better. Definitely inspiring to see one reason why someone would be brave or crazy enough to walk alone on a dangerous trail like that.

  2. Yes, Yes it was. Boring all around. I did make it to Zumba though, and that wasn't boring - but once I was home and showered the boredom commenced. The kids are off tomorrow so even though I'll be at work, I won't have students so I'll get a lot done.

    1. That'll be nice to have the kids outta your hair so you can have some peace and quiet!

  3. I actually had a great day yesterday. I'm back on the wagon and WILL lose this 30-lb regain. I even tracked my food yesterday for the first time in years.

  4. I am in a weird place right now. I am going on vacation on Sunday so I am in that uber high faze of getting ready to go and the anticipation of seeing my Mom in less than a week. She lives in OK, I live in WI so only once a year does this happen. And, heading to where it is about 20 degrees warmer wont hurt either. So if it was a boring day, I wouldn't have been able to recognize it LOL
Now, driving down for 13+ hours on Sunday, that is going to be boring

    1. On long road trips like that there comes a point where you just feel like you will never stop driving. You forget you even have a destination at that point! LOL Have fun!

  5. I did not have a good night with too much stress and sadness. But that is rather normal around here, so it's not unusual. Being off the pill probably has my hormones more on edge. I'm making chicken tacos, too! I do them in the crock pot with boneless skinless chicken thighs and it's one of my favorite go-to meals. The gravy it makes it SO good and I'll put that over rice sometimes and it's just divine. Yum!
