What I'm Reading This Week #16
Good Friday to you! Literally. I can't believe Easter is here. Anyone else having epic wind and rain storms over the past month? I mean good friggin' luck trying to enjoy any time out there and we're not afraid of weather. As I type, there are 40mph gusts. I went out to paint the critter cages on the planters and feel like I have hypothermia at 47 degrees when yesterday's weather forecast said it would be 74 today. Da fuq? Guess who finally took the bedroom Christmas tree down Wednesday? It was neutrally decorated so it was fine but it came on every night and gave a cozy glow. I knew one day I would look at it and know it needed to go to sleep until November 1st. That's the other thing, I will be decorating for everything extra early from now on. August 1st- Fall decor as I will thoroughly be over summer by then and given that's the day Mom passed, I'll need something to lift my spirits. November 1st it'll be ...
I'm with you - LOVE the flowers! That bouquet is gorgeous. What a special Mr. you have there. Last time I got flowers, I said to my husband "What did you do?" :-)
ReplyDeleteHA! I know, I've said that on occasion or two myself. ;)
DeleteGorgeous flowers!!!! You are so blessed/lucky! I know you already know this, but your husband totally rocks!!!
ReplyDeleteSeeing how much you care for and appreciate these flowers from the Mr. makes me smile! So glad that you both find ways to continuously show each other that you are appreciated!
ReplyDeleteHe's a keeper!
DeleteWow! How beautiful! I love how you have them arranged! How sweet of your hubby to do this for you :)
ReplyDeleteI love arranging them! Lets me be creative.
DeleteWow! Beautiful!! Great job with arranging the flowers, they look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I love arranging them just the way I like them! :)
DeleteWhat beautiful flowers! and how thoughtful to have them sent to you this way instead of pre-assembled. I have a suspicion that half the fun for you was putting them together exactly the way you wanted them.
ReplyDeleteYour suspicion is correct. ;)
DeleteWhat an incredibly thoughtful, fantastic gift! Just what you need to put the smile back on your face. What a great idea that you get to assemble it yourself. Great job arranging them, you're so crafty! :)
ReplyDeleteYes it was definitely just what I needed! Thanks! I love arranging them myself.
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful!! He's a keeper!
ReplyDeleteYes he is!
DeleteOoohhhh... pretty! I love tropical flowers. They're so bright and fun. I like the orange one and that little spray of purple/white.
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful gift. :)
Yes I love them too. When we renew our vows for our 25th, I'm using those!
DeleteSo nice!!! Love how you guys take care of each other!!
ReplyDeleteI'm still too tired, but what's making me smile this morning was hearing Dino come on during my shuffle this morning singing "Ain't that a Kick in the Head". :-) Definite smile throughout!!
Thanks girlie! Gotta love songs that make you smile!
DeleteOh, what a sweetie the Mr. is! The flowers are just gorgeous, and you have the touch for arranging them, for sure. My honey brought home flowers last night, just because. They weren't as exotic, and I don't have the knack for arrangement, but I'm pretty sure my guy's heart was in the same sweet place as your guy's, and that's what makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteYes he is! Sounds like you've got a sweetie on your hands too!
DeleteAwwwwwwww Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThose flowers are gorgeous & you're pretty good at arranging them too--my arrangements always look like crap! ;) I'm glad you had a reason to smile this week. It's nice to have a partner who knows what to do when you're feeling down!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I always take note certain arrangements so I can try to copy them when I get some of my own.
DeleteAww, that's SO awesome! They're beautiful and he's so sweet.
ReplyDeleteThanks and yes he is!
DeleteSO pretty! Bonus points to the Mr!! What makes me smile? Lots of things, but a kind word from just about anyone can pretty much do the trick. ESPECIALLY the Hubs, because he isn't big on romantic gestures or saying the right thing. ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, big bonus points. Isn't it funny how far a simple kind word can go?
DeleteI got nothin' that tops THAT... how BEAUTIFUL!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe best I can manage today is chasing the fat little Jack Russel terrier lost in the street, hoping to catch him before he gets hit by a car (we live on an insanely busy intersection)... so far he remains defiantly 'at large'! Darn is he funny, cute and FAST, LOL!
Cool...and romantic!
ReplyDeleteAnything involving kitties makes me smile.
I once lived in a house in Mesa, AZ that had humongous bird of paradise growing in the gravel front yard along our windows....just gorgeous. I thought they were tropical but they loved and thrived in that Arizona heat. And the red ones (don't remember their name) were in my sister's bridal bouquet many moons and 2 husbands ago (I was a bridesmaid). I remember thinking they were interesting, but ugly, and not flowers...I was young and dumb....my sister has a degree in horticulture and picked them out of all the flowers in the world for the wedding I'm sure the Mr. will smile!
Glad the flowers arrived on time. I wish I could have been there with you when you got them but at least I am back home now and can enjoy them with you. I am also glad that you got a chance to share them with everyone!
ReplyDeleteThose are quite beautiful! Those kind of unexpected surprises can make all the difference in your day. So glad they brightened yours!
