Did Statins Help?

Pardon if this is riddled with typos but it's 2:30am. I got my lipid blood test results back yesterday.  I'm going to assume heading into perimenopause years shot my numbers up because nothing has changed food wise (though stress wise it's been astronomical the past few years which apparently contributes as well). A reminder, I was at 264 at the beginning of December and my shuck and jive speech to get my shit together didn't land well with her.  After a talk with my bestie who is on them convinced me (us) with her experience, I relented and agreed to go on them. After almost 4 months on a 10mg dose (the lowest dose available), I'm at 184.  So, I guess they work.  😂   I will also say this is with zero dietary changes and a pretty scattered workout schedule the past two months.  I hope in time when all of the projects are done and we are finally able to focus on ourselves that I can eventually go off of them with hard work.   I'm pleased with...

Recipe round up for procrastinators

Can you guys believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving?  I mean for real, didn't the calendar just flip over to November?  Not that I'm complaining because now it just means everyone will have to jump on board with the holiday spirit or be labeled a poopie humbug.  No one wants to be a poopie humbug.

I hope to God y'all have your menu planned.  But if you don't or you're one of those people who was going to swear off the holiday then got a whiff of samples at the grocery store and need some last minute recipes, I've done a round up for the procrastinators.

Well, I suppose I should go make my pumpkin pie for tomorrow so I can just focus on the taters and stuffing after our workout tomorrow.  My plate is gonna have some white meat turkey, skinny mashed potatoes, stuffing, Grandma's noodles, 1 roll, 2 crackers with cheeseball and our waters.  Dessert will be the light pumpkin pie I bring.

  2. Thanks for posting this. I love it. I have not yet created my menu although tomorrow I'm going to someones house so it's not that pressing. I still make myself a turkey breast and a couple of sides to eat for the week after. Such yummy stuff.

  3. My hubby doesn't like turkey any way you cook it, so, we are having chicken cordon easy, skinny mashed potatoes, homemade rolls, peas and pumpkin, apple or pecan pie. Then we're off Friday morning on our annual get away and boy, do we need it!!!! WWWWooooooohhoooooooo!

  6. The pumpkin gingerbread loaf sounds good to me too, but I'm thinking of that closer to Christmas. Maybe something to take in and share at work.

    Turkey & gravy (done by hubby, I don't know what goes into it, and I don't want to)
    Mashed potatoes - done with chicken broth

    Sweet figgy potatoes - from a couple weeks back

    if I get ambitious I'm also going to make those gingersnap crust pumpkin things you posted last year, and a couple batches of cookies from last years 12 days of treats.

  7. I tend to stay classic for my menu - sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, turkey. Although this year we are grilling the turkey on the Weber, and I am making a cranberry/apple jam as a side.
