What I'm Reading This Week #35

Howdy do and happy last Friday of August!  I hope you had a good week and if your weather was like ours, it was FINALLY under 93 degrees.  Don't get me wrong, I know sweater weather isn't here but it was nice to not have the AC working overtime (set to 76) starting at 11am every day!   It was nice to not walk out to water the garden and walk into a wall of humidity so I will take what I can get.    Speaking of which: With this 3" San Marzano , I shall be able to make enough sauce to cover 7.3 spaghetti noodles. 😒 Now let's get to: How to Stock Your Pantry for Quick & Easy Meals in Minutes   (Ooh, I need to crockpot some black beans for some sweet potato black bean burritos.) What Happens to Your Body When You Start Lifting Weights After 50   (Stay strong, sharp, and independent—no matter when you start.) Ditching This Common Food Type Could Double Weight Loss, According To Scientists (It makes sense and I've started to cut back on them for ...

Tiebreaker- Weigh In

Down 2!  Can I get a hell yeah!?

I think I averaged just under 2220 for the week so I'm thinking 2200-2250 average is my sweet spot for now.  If my body will cooperate and lose this every week (HA!  So funny) then I could have another 15-20 off for vacation which would be awesome but I know since I just said it, I jinxed myself.  I don't seem to be a consistent with weight loss (expecting 2 lbs at a time) unless I'm losing my first 100 lbs and since that's long gone.  BUT, I do feel somewhat confident that I have earned my 200 lbs lost moniker back at 204 lbs lost so up it goes.  Never to be stripped again.  You hear that fat cells!?

We're going to a flea market, getting the office together and having a friend over for lunch tomorrow.

What's on your agenda this weekend?

  1. I'm so happy for you! *insert happy dance*

I hope this is the solution that allows to consistently lose from week to week.

This weekend? If the weather is as nice as predicted I intend to be outside as much as possible. Park with the little one, some yard work maybe, go for a nice long walk...

No huge plans this weekend. I'm hoping to break out the bike for the first time this year.

  3. Yeah, what Kathi and Karla said!

As for me, celebrating an anniversary tonight with my hiking buddy and her hubby, which means casino, which means blackjack (WHOOP!) and drinking (I'll keep it to one or two). So today, cleaning and a 3-mile walk around a nearby lake. Tomorrow the same and then maybe dancing...a favorite local band is playing their last gig at a microbrewery/bar nearby.

I've got a very active week coming up, fortunately, so I can loosen up a bit this weekend.

I'm lovin' up my Mr. and my darlin' girl in between... we're just hangin' out... we've got a wierd winter weather happening even though it's been spring for weeks now.

    Have a great weekend!

  6. Hell to the yes!

As for weekend plans, girl time today and car shopping tomorrow since I was in a pretty serious car accident yesterday. Fortunately, everyone involved was unhurt. My poor little Corolla cannot boast the same.

Can you tell me, with that calorie intake, what do you average on exercise wise? How many calories burnt a week, roughly? I'm trying to find my sweet spot ;)

  10. Thanks so much everyone! I was relieved to see it. I truly had no freakin' clue what to expect!

Maren- I burn between 4200-4600 calories per week with a mix of cardio and strength training 2x per week.
