What I'm Reading This Week #18

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to May.  We had a long week of getting the garage together so the Mr could finally park in it six weeks later.  We still have some work to do in there as far as purging and such but we needed to get the space useable again since it's been a holding tank for our old countertop/sink, old grill waiting to be picked up by a friend, insulation, built planters and patio table and extra fencing from critter cages.  We haven't had the mental drive to figure out how we get the shelves in order.  I think I'm going to have to look up some garage organizing articles or something because it's really overwhelming to look at it all.  If we can get a plan together to tackle it then maybe we'll have our weekend plans for next weekend as long as it's not hot yet because we don't want to be in a sweatbox. Now let's peek into: Dietitians Agree, Eating More Might Be the Secret to Your Strongest Year Ever   (Volume eating FTW.  It's been ...

Lethal cookies and on the mend

Howdy do all!

I accidentally slept in yesterday.  I heard the Mr get up and the next thing I knew, I was selling Girl Scout cookies to Riggs and Murtaugh telling them I made six figures only working three months out of the year.  If only!

But I will take that dream over the one the day before anytime, thankyouverymuch!

I went to the chiro yesterday and he said while he still feels adhesions, the shoulder is beginning to heal.  I can add back in small amounts of upper body but absolutely no flies because it could set me back.  The Mr went later in the day and he was told he's pretty much cleared to his own comfort level.  That actually kind of surprised me because his range of motion is still pretty crappy.  I go back in a week and he goes back in two weeks.

We did lower body and HIIT last night and I threw in a few bicep curls to test the waters and I did okay.  I was still a bit on the tight side a few hours later but he said doing the cross friction massage he does on me will help break things up in there.  I was just glad to see I could do push ups off the knees because a few weeks ago that would've hurt.  I knew enough that when I saw walk downs as one of the exercises, I had to do something else in its place.  I must say, I'm really itching to get back into some good upper body but I'm not going to jeopardize my healing process so I'll have to bide my time.

Dinner was homemade Chinese food that I was so excited to eat I forgot to take a picture of it.  Oops!  After that we took care of some business stuff then had the battle rounds of The Voice on in the background.

Pretty low key on our end!

Have you imbibed in Girl Scout cookies this season like Riggs and Murtaugh?  If so, what are your faves?

  1. Now that is a funny subject for a dream. The thing is, I could totally see those guys buying girl scout cookies in a funny way in just about any of the Lethal Weapon movies.

Just like you said the other day, I kind of wish they would sell the cookies by the sleeve. I just want a few Thin Mints and I'd be satisfied. I don't need a whole box!

  2. Thin mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs. Those have always been my favorites, and probably always will be. I did buy some this year, but they're in the freezer to be doled out through the year. The boxes seem to have gotten smaller, so who knows - maybe at some point they will be selling a sleeve as a box.

  3. I've gotten no dang cookies this year! Since I'm currently not working, I haven't been around anybody selling them. My all-time favorite is Thin Mints (especially straight out of the freezer). I also like the peanut butter ones that are like a puffy patty covered in chocolate. And as gross as most people thing, I love the lemon cookies! Lemon poundcake, cookies, you name it and I like it. But Thin Mints are the bomb diggity and sadly, I can eat an entire box without blinking in about 20 minutes.
