Hump Day Poll: Your Childhood Go To's

Candy Edition! I was thinking about my Mom's 50th birthday party.  It was a wonderful memory because I worked really hard on it and planned it for 9 months to make it great for her.  Because she didn't have a 25th wedding anniversary, I knew I was going to go all out for her 50th.  I had family, friends, people from high school, co-workers (ones I knew she liked! 😁) and I loved seeing her face when she would see people she hadn't seen in a long time.  One of the biggest hits that people talked about for years after were the retro candy baskets on every table.  I bought ones that I knew were her favorites as well as looking at what were popular at the time.   People lost their minds and were squealing like kids when they saw their favorites. I got all of the candy through Candy Favorites website and it's always so fun to look through. I was perusing the site, I was thinking of what stuff I'd want in the baskets on my table for a party like Mom's: Cher...

Post paddle weigh in

Welp, I'm down 4 lbs this week and the Mr is down 2 lbs.

We'll definitely take that.

I still have 4 more to go to get vacation weight off so I'm behind schedule as I wanted it off by this weigh in.  My body not cooperating the first two weeks we were back didn't help things.  But hopefully we'll be able to get in more paddle sessions for big burns.  We might go to the lake tomorrow to see if other yakers are out after today's big rain.  If so, then I'd say we might be good for a session or two this week after the Mr gets off work before the holiday weekend hits.  No way am I going out on a full lake!  I likes me privacy.  (<-- read in a British accent)

So, I have no idea what we're doing today.  The Mr is in the shower and I'll hop in after him and try to figure out what sounds good.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  4. Congrats on your losses! I weighed in on Sunday, dreading the results, and found that I've lost 2 lbs over the last few weeks despite so pretty bad choices along the way so I'm pretty happy myself.
