What I'm Reading This Week #19
Hello hello, mah peeps! I hope you had a good week. A quick birthday shout out to my FIL. I'm sure he's whipping up quite a party up there and DJing like he used to back in the day. It's very hard to not think that today was supposed to be our first full day walking Ogunquit Beach in Maine after finding a place we could finally afford there. I'm also failing at knowing we should still be gone for another week. and we're especially bitter given what a complete disaster our attempt at a smaller getaway was when we stayed at the worst place we've ever rented a few days ago. When I say there was nowhere comfortable to sit/sleep, I mean NOWHERE. The Mr is crippled and we spent our anniversary hoping he didn't end up on a telehealth call for strong pain meds. I had borderline migraines daily and by the end was also limping with my SI joint joining the hobble party. It rained torrentially every single day which we're fine with n...
I do think Neti pot can help but there seems to be a fine line between using that and over-using it. Wish I had better methods of dealing with ickies though, so hopefully more people chime in.
ReplyDeleteI wish my nasal passages didn't protest so much to that thing! I think using 1/3 of the salt packet is the key though
DeleteI don't do much other than drink a lot of water, bone broth, and take Zicam melts every three hours and that does seem to help lessen the time of the severe aches and pains. What does seem to linger no matter what is that dang tickle in the throat with the bit of phlegm that just will not come up for a good two weeks! Wearing masks has been great during the winter when that wind is whipping and my face stays much warmer. I'm a nerd and color coordinate mine. LOL
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing more irritating than that constant clearing of the throat and getting nothing "productive" out of it. We love wearing masks to keep our faces warm too! That reminds me I need to wash up our Snoopy Cmas masks!
DeleteChicken soup with matzo balls for kim chi ji gae (korean stew).
ReplyDeleteOoh, sounds good!
DeleteI'm battling a cold for the past week. Started off as a sore throat, which I assume was due to the mucous. Now it's just congestion and exhaustion, though I do feel like I'm starting a cough. I've been doing hot tea w/ honey, Mucinex and some NyQuil, but honestly, I don't feel like much works. For me, it's all about just riding it out and trying to stay as comfortable as possible. It sucks!
ReplyDeleteAww, I'm sorry you're not well! I hope you feel better soon! I have hard time drinking water anyway but especially when I'm sick. I will say it did help thin things out if you want to try to chug for a few days and see if it helps.
DeleteI love the throat coat licorice tea. I also take a Claritin d and mucinex d (green label). I must have eaten enough dirt as a child cause colds don't find me often
