What I'm Reading This Week #21
Happy Friday all! I am beyond thrilled to not having to babysit seedlings indoors anymore. I know I need to babysit them outside now but I am going to have to do some serious research on how to stop algae and white mold because I feel like I tried all of the tricks and nothing helped. I can't wait for them to actually bloom. Well, my cantaloupe have flowers on them. I guess I'll have to get some knee high panty hose to hang them from on the trellis. I'll be keeping my eye on those bucket crops because I know it won't be long before critters try to come after them and when they do, I have insect nets waiting for them. HISS! So we'll see how phase two goes. Now let's phase into: 5 Best Compound Exercises to Strengthen Your Whole Body (Get twice as much done in half the time!) 10 Anti-Inflammatory Foods You Should Be Eating, According to Registered Dietitians (I wish I liked avocados, maybe if I made a sassy guac/salsa combo w...
I did my shopping and am just waiting for boxes to arrive, then I can get wrapping and catch up with you. This is not any sooner than normal though. I like to be done early and not have to worry about looking for items that are out of stock or whatever. Only downside is sometimes you might miss out on a potential sale price but its worth knowing that everything is done already and you can just enjoy the holidays.
ReplyDeleteMy shopping list gets smaller every year. With all the zoom calls during work from home I've gotten some crocheting done so some folks are getting some nice afghans this year.
ReplyDeleteI have started but I am no where complete. This is about where I am in my shopping list every year. I tend to pick up stocking stuffers all year long, when I see stuff on sale or something special that might not be around at Christmas time. My Christmas shopping normally kicks into high gear when the Christmas stuff starts to appear at Costco.
ReplyDeleteWe have also already picked up the Santa gift for my partner's son. We found someone selling an autographed hockey jersey for his favorite player online and jumped on that deal. It has been in the closet since last year.
It's been such a bizarre year that my shopping this year has been different. I have the majority of it done, but not wrapped quite yet. A couple of friends asked not to do exchanges this year because of the hectic chaos and we can't see each other, so I was good with that. Another friend said lets just slap a gift card in the mail to each other...done! So my list is a lot smaller than it normally is but the shopping I did get to do I was very excited about (ahem) because it got me into the spirit! I'll enjoy doing the wrapping and have a couple more things to buy that only become available around this time of year so those are the last minute items I need to grab.
ReplyDeleteHaven't given it a thought yet. Was going to take a trip somewhere warm as the gift but, yeah, corona. My kids are minimalist so it's hard to get an idea.
ReplyDeleteNo. I usually do all of my shopping right after Thanksgiving, and most of my shopping is done online. Even though I live in a big house, we have kids that would find gifts if I started buying earlier, plus I would forget where I put a gift if I hid it.
ReplyDeleteI have picked up a couple things, so that actually puts me further ahead than usual. I'm a last-minuter most years. I'm trying to figure out how to wrap lawnchairs so that's fun.
ReplyDeleteThey have big bags you can get for bicycles. Maybe that could work?
