Labor Day Weekend Recap

How do?  It's the start of a new month again. I have to say, decorating for Fall early this year was absolutely the right thing to do.  I want to say I put stuff up August 12th-ish and not only did it put me in a better mood but I usually decorate early September and then it feels like a deadline.  Having all of this up was calming in the blazing heat and humidity and gave me something to look forward to. The Mr and I had our birthday celebration Saturday.  I had him pick up my favorite cupcakes and it's the first year we didn't have an actual cake which felt weird and kind of sad.  I grew up on grocery store cakes with overly sweet frosting and roses or balloons on the edges.  Sadly since everything is off-site and shipped into stores now, they are as dry as the desert no matter where we try to get them.  Even Mom and Pop bakeries have the same problem.  I really don't want to bake my own cake so cupcakes it is and they looked like they hit it ou...

No real plans that I know of.  I do want to get the house back in order so everything is cleaned up but that shouldn't take long.   It's supposed to be a potential sloppy mess out there so not sure what's on the agenda.  Oh wait, it's grocery weekend.  Oy to the vey.

    Hard to believe we are already 6 weeks into the new year but then I probably said that last year about this time. Happy Friday everybody, and enjoy your weekend!

    My plans are a bit up in the air depending on the snow overnight. I "may" go to my meeting if the roads are decent. I will definitely go for my mammogram. The hubs is working so I'll have the Olympics on (I'm a nerd and will watch every sport...curling -- love it)while I do some cleaning and laundry. Sunday will be grocery shopping if the roads are decent from more snow Sat. into Sun.

    The hubs called me late this afternoon and said someone had plowed our driveway! I'm pretty sure I know which neighbor it was because he did the mailboxes too, but I won't know for sure unless I can run into him. What a blessing that was! I think someone got a new snow blower because 4 driveways were done all by the same machine! LOL

    Have a great weekend and with any luck you'll get the snow we got here before it warms up for you (we're staying in the 20's next week while Chicago will be in the 40's...boo hiss!!)
