Belated Weekend Recap
Hola peeps and happy Tuesday. Anyone else get engulfed by the wildfire smoke over the weekend? Three days straight for us with lots of air quality alerts. I hope my Canadian friends are doing okay. It was a bit of a lazy weekend to start until it wasn't. (Thanks to me, I'm sure the Mr is mumbling under his breath.). I have been throwing myself into projects this month to keep myself from spiraling over Mom's birthday this week. Not to mention constantly fighting every aspect of gardening and I swear I typed that sentence before that last time I tried in 2020. I have fungus gnats in the elevated planters because of all of the damn rain we've been getting and the soil can't dry out for them to die off. So I got some mosquito dunks that can be cut into 1/8's and put into a gallon of water overnight and then water the area to kill the larvae then dry the soil to kill the adults. This is apparently common with organic gardening but frustrating...
It was a great day. I didn't mind the cold and loved the snow. It was good to see some others walking out in it too. There are others like us out there!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that you got some snow and had the chance to enjoy it! We got about 3 inches last Thursday/Friday and I can't lie, it made me smile :). Have a great week!

ReplyDeleteWe don't get a lot of snow here most years, so even a few flakes makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got to enjoy your tree with the proper background, and that you got to spend some times outside enjoying the snow.
I had a mammogram on Saturday. The was the excitement for my weekend. woohoo.
We got the snow as well but the temps took a dive and it's -5 below right now. The next few days are supposed to be bitterly cold then warm up a bit. The dogs' tootsies are not happy. LOL It was a light, fluffy snow though so easy to shovel and pretty to look at.
ReplyDeleteI had a meeting on Saturday, then met a friend for a lovely lunch. Took care of some bills and stuff for my mom on Sunday. Basically did some house stuff for the most part. I, too, need to make a grocery store run at some point. Right now though it's cold outside and I want to stay snuggled up with the pups! LOL
I don't blame you one bit for leaving the tree and decorations up. I grew up in North Idaho and always had a white Christmas. I live a few miles north of Seattle and rarely have snow at Christmas. We did have an inch a week or so ago (for a day or two). I always love to see the white stuff fall from the sky, see the air that I breathe and the chill I feel on the outside is nothing compared to the warmth I feel inside.
