Free and fun fitness? Yes please!

Well we're into the first few weeks of the new year.  Have your holiday and college football food comas subsided yet?  Your feeds have probably been inundated with posts about New Years Resolutions, offers from gyms and all that jazz.  I don't know about you guys but I'm not much for resolutions because it ends up being "here are a list of things I will not do this year."  Offers from gyms aren't appealing because I don't need to pay when there are plenty of at home DVD's and even websites and YouTube channels that provide free workouts.  Fitness doesn't have to cost a thing or require a declaration...just a commitment to yourself.

I like to shake things up from time to time to get the bod out of its usual habits.  I'm always on the lookout for online workouts to ChromeCast to the dungeon workout space.  Some of you may remember the interview I did with celebrity trainer Mike Donavanik.  We love his DVD's because they're a good mix of cardio and strength training and he's pretty high energy.

Mike has a YouTube channel now that you can get some great free mix and match workouts!  Whether you just have time for 10 minutes or up to 30 minutes, he's got some great booty kickin', ab rippin' choices.  Most videos contain a modification for beginners or those with limitations they need to consider.  Because Mike likes to keep things fun and silly, the workouts go by quickly.  This year he's even going to add some fun vlog features that will let you in on the man behind the fitness instructor.  Gotta love that!

From workouts to fitness Q&A's to Fit Tips to random stuff that will make you laugh, Mike's YouTube channel is worth checking out!

To see more of what Mike is up to, you can follow him on Facebook or at his website.

  1. I really like that more and more options for workouts are showing up on YouTube and if you couple that with the Chromecast it makes it really easy to pull them up on the TV and keep the workout variety going.

  2. Seems like a fun guy with good energy! I don't do New Year's Resolutions either, probably because I consider my "annual" year to be birthday to birthday. I am working on an Action Plan though. =o)
