My Favorite Products That Make My Life Easier
I'm sure you probably know from today to Friday (11th) is Prime Day. If you remember my post about how I can keep this place up and running yearly, you know unfortunately Amazon is really the only way I can make that happen since I'm considered a 'mini' blogger. My sassy thoughts doth not jibe with sponsors, my following is small (which I love actually) so Amazon affiliate links are the only way I can hit that target. I will say that due to tariff pauses expiring at the end of day today, prices could go way up tomorrow (9th) so I would encourage you to buy today even though Prime Day doesn't end until the 11th. I know I will be. I'm going to share products I love and if you check 'em out and buy them or anything on Amazon once you click through, it'll help me keep the place jumpin'. Electric Spin Scrubber I can't begin to tell you the game changer this is especially for someone who isn't a clean freak. The last thing my mind but mor...
I don't really know actually. I'm kind of a freak about creating a meal and having everything mesh well together.
ReplyDeleteIn other news, I've been making potato chips in the microwave a bit too much lately. Spray a plate with PAM or brush with oil. Slice potatoes thinly (I use red, only because they're the lowest on the GI). Coat the potatoes wiht a bit of oil, salt and pepper (or whatever you want). Lay out on the plate and then nuke them for about 7 minutes. They should be lightly golden.
It's a pain in the ass and takes forever, but they're good.
I know I've done some weird combos, but I can't think of any in particular right now.
ReplyDeleteProbably the oddest meal we have is leftover night. At random intervals I pull all the leftovers out of the fridge and throw them on the table together. So if we've had spaghetti, tacos and BBQ the last 3 nights... it can get interesting but if they were all meals we like the first time around no-one complains.
Yesterday for lunch I ended up grabbing the leftover taco meat we had the night before and a frozen bag of rice (I single freeze leftovers for lunches) and it was curried rice with toasted pine nuts. I wasn't sure it would go with the taco meat, but it was actually pretty yummy. And it smelled great.
ReplyDeleteHmm, can't think of any right now but I do recall asking my daughter when she was about 4 what we should have for supper and she said, "hamburgers, roast, steak and hot dogs"! Needless to say, I did not prepare that combination but it would have made her very happy as she does not like veggies or fruit, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteMy best friend in college always made Fish Sticks and Spaghetti as his staple. I have deemed it his own personal blue plate special.
ReplyDeleteEvery once in a while, when I haven't gone grocery shopping in a while, i pull out that blue plate special, and its pretty darn good. lol
I just had a left over pork tenderloin 2.5 oz. The left over rice I turned into rice pudding! Odd but they were both tasty!
ReplyDeleteMmmm, actually, that sounds like a pretty awesome combination to me--a little different, but different can be good, right? My philosophy is why NOT live dangerously and try an unusual combination; sometimes you discover something wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWe have a chicken farm restaurant within 30 minutes. They serve broasted chicken (fall off the bone), shells w/ italian sauce, thick-cut fries and tossed salad. The first time my DH brought me there, I was very surprised. He had just said, "They don't even ask you what you want. They bring a chicken meal and then keep it coming." Love that combo. Haven't had in ages. One can get the salad dressing and pasta sauce at the grocery stores around here. Wright's Chicken Farm!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I have to "clean out" the fridge, some strange bedfellows of meals get created. Nothing has ever been gross enough not to eat, has been well received and a pleasant surprise to me since I wonder as I put it all together trying to save stuff from going bad.
ReplyDeleteEverything I eat is strange! Ketchup goes on everything, dip chips in ice cream, doritos on tuna (of course these are high cal days!). My husband jokes that when I ever get pregnant I'll probably crave normal things... haha!
