Experimental and Exhausting Weekend Recap

Well hey there good lookin'!  I hope you had a fan-flippin-tastic weekend.  Ours was a bit low key until it wasn't.  The Mr and I talked about our weigh ins.  I lost one and he lost two and while I would usually be completely gutted with that result given drinking a gallon of water every day, tracked all of my stuff meticulously, made sure my protein is where it needed to be, etc. I now had the info of my body fat going down .3% and my muscle mass going up .1%  So that scale has already paid for itself by keeping my spiral in check with other information that was positive.  The best $20 we ever spent.

We went out for lunch Saturday and I suggested we try to split a burger.  He thought I meant we each order a burger then half it and keep it but I knew myself, I'd say I was still hungry and eat the other half.  I wanted to see how I felt eating super slow.  He was full.  I was not.  I might've been if I drank the water I had but we were out and about and I didn't want to try to find a tinkletorium in the wild.  I wasn't hangry or anything but I had to focus on not feeling like I was 'missing out.'  Ahh the beginning of hopefully some reprogramming.  We said we wanted to continue last weekend's activity of going out for a walk but the historic district was utterly full and annoying so we went to a park we'd occasionally go to where the walkways are covered in golden glitter.

Despite being sunny, it was still cold so we strapped on the heavier coats and went onto the spongy boardwalk.

A gaggle o' geese watched suspiciously.

These two are having a post coital bath.

Thank goodness we don't have the kids to explain what they were doing when he stood on her back basically drowning her as he had his way with her hoping to make some baby mallards.

We swung by Mom's/Grandma's to get her Christmas wreath and were not happy to see it had been moved so that some jackhole could burn incense at it.  I'm not talking just her grave but three rows of graves and I was pissed.  I don't care what you're doing for your dead and whatever religious rituals you do but you have no business messing with anyone else's graves around them.  So now I'm going to have to make a point of going there more often to make sure this was a one off and not someone doing some kind of weird crap because I'll friggin' sleep there if I have to if this becomes a thing.  You don't leave 6-20 sticks behind PER GRAVE and clearly leave them unattended.  We came home and watched some Netflix stuff before nodding off.

Sunday was a busy day.  It was prep day again.  Yay.  😑

But before we did, I thawed then reheated the chicken 'chili' I made the previous week.

The Mr got to some measuring, cutting and finagling the baseboards on the main floor that have been removed almost a year.  Clearly they have not been the priority and they still aren't but he busted his sweaty hump doing those things.  I still have my part to do which is quite extensive given some gaps that really shouldn't be there given the walls had an extra sheet added, not changed in the lengths.

Then I had to get full on in the prep work which S.U.C.K.E.D.

I threw together some turkey mushroom meatloaf to freeze for the next week or so.

I made some Einkorn pumpkin molasses muffins for snacks.

Then I needed to make some high protein breakfasts to grab and heat.

Those take a lot longer than I feel they should and I wasn't done with everything until almost 6pm and still had a strength workout to do despite my back and feet hurting.  It all just hurt and we got NO relaxing yesterday at all.  I want to say future me will thank me but yesterday me is giving her a hearty finger gesture.

Then we showered up after our workout and collapsed.

How was your weekend?

  1. That was not fun but it was nice to get something knocked off the list at least. I'm completely wiped out and wish it was a 3 day weekend so I could just lay on bed all day.

I am glad we got that scale. Tracking more than just weight is a game changer.

  2. You definitely had a very busy and productive weekend...and the exhaustion that goes along with it! Good weekend here. Lots of little house stuff, errands, church, and working on my daily task list, which I knocked off the morning items already, so it's a good start.
