Survival Mode Put Us Back to Zero

A lot of you came here many moons ago when I left Sparkpeople.  I loved the community of that place and the support I got there.  It was at the height of us being on our game.  That motivation you have in the beginning when you're consistently rewarded with weight loss, smaller clothes, compliments to keep your motivation high and you somehow begin to step out of being invisible to the public to people smiling at you, opening doors or striking up conversation.  You start to feel human.  You don't have to worry about going to restaurants or 'fitting' somewhere.  You can go to a wedding and see those God awful thin folding chairs and while you still don't like them, you're not concerned.  Many of your worries that fit people never had to think of, have faded away.  We started for the long haul in our 30's and that's when we had the most success, losing 226 and 190 lbs respectively.  When we went on vacation, as long as we came back and got rig...

Hump Day Poll: Soggy or Crunchy?

That picture fills the Mr with glee and fills me with horror.   He floods his cereal to the point of asking if he'd like some cereal with his milk.  I add milk until the cereal just starts to float which is always about 6 ounces.  (I think this stems from being raised by a single mom and not wasting food.)  I like my cereal to crunch when I eat it.

Do you like your cereal crunchy or soggy?

  1. Soggy for me. I don't hate crunchy though either so I will sometimes wait just long enough for the cereal on the bottom to get nice and soggy while the stuff on top can stay crunchy. Guess I know what I'm having for breakfast today.

  2. I'm a middle-of-the-road cereal eater. I don't like super crunchy, but don't like mush either. I was forced to drink the milk in the bowl when I was a kid, and to this day that gags me. But I like the milk to penetrate the cereal a bit, such as Rice Chex. And certain cereals I prefer to eat dry as a snack than putting milk in it. Weirdo. LOL

  3. I'm definitely a crunchy girl. If I'm having cereal I need to be able to sit down and eat it all in one sitting, eating consistently. There is no time to chat and my tea can wait until the cereal is finished. As soon as it starts to go soggy I don't want to eat any more of it.

  4. Gotta have the crunch but some cereals stay crunchy longer than others. I tend to drown granola.

  5. My friend got this bowl because he hates soggy cereal:
