Not for You Weekend Recap
Sup y'all, we're back to Monday. Again. I hope your weekend was a good one. Everyone still soaking wet or did you avoid biblical rain this week? Last week was not the greatest for me mentally. I started to have serious pre-buyers remorse. We're moving from one HOA nightmare to another in the form of either someone skilled in giving the runaround or are just plain a moron. We have to ask every question twice because the first time we get a response to every question except the one we asked. The fees just for the privilege to live here are jaw dropping. Like $7000. My cousin says it's for access to the lodge, clubhouse, all amenities, lakes, etc and I said "don't we get that with the monthly HOA fee we pay on top of that?" "Yes " Me: source Them: source Me: source Them; source It also hit me hard that traveling is over for us. Something that you all know has been an integral part of our ...

When I was a kid my family would play Risk but I was too young to understand it so they said I could play the dolphin. The dolphin was just a dolphin in the ocean off one of the continents that they were basically warring over in that game, so I later understood how I was basically fooled into thinking I was playing a game when I was most definitely not. Then when I got older they never played Risk again. Instead we played Life and Monopoly. To this day I have never played a game of Risk. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing honestly.
ReplyDeleteMy Dads Bday same day same year!
ReplyDeleteWe play yahtzee, sequence, scrabble, rummikub, and new one Telestrations after dark. Love board games and puzzles!
The only two I remember playing were Connect Four (with the old school slide bar), Battleship, and Checkers. No board games. I only played a few as an adult, so I was always more of an observer watching how the games were played.
ReplyDeleteI really like board games but most of them you really need more than 2 people for. I like Rumikub (someone else mentioned that one) but I don't know how well it works for 2. I loved Gin Rummy as a kid, Farkle is fun, and Cribbage is an all time favorite of mine but no one else I know ever wants to play.
ReplyDeleteAzul Board Game Is very good with small # of people.
ReplyDelete(We play Racko also. I have always liked it.)
My husband loves chess.
We play a lot of card games.
I have a good size game collection now for 12+ players (holidays). So we are either playing with 2-3 or 12+ which are both hard to find.
My boyfriend and I play a lot of cribbage and backgammon together. With his 10 year old son we'll also play Monopoly, Snakes and Ladders, or Chinese Checkers. If we have more people around we'll play Uno, Imagine If, Trivial Pursuit (original version and teams). We have a cabinet full of board games.
