Scenes from the weekend

Happy Monday all!

Do you have any idea how hard it is to find flowers after July 4th?  God forbid you have your patio torn up and you get started late!  But visiting garden centers in triple-digit heat indexes is always high on the to-do list, no?

How many bees can you spot?  Or are they hornets?  I don't know but as long as they don't sting me, we coo'.

(Answer: Three...however there were twelve there.)

From springy looking flowers to the first signs of Fall.  I'm ready.  68 days. This summer in particular blows on the heat scale.

We stopped at a new to us store and the raging moose knuckle in its natural habitat caught our attention.

(The Mr wanted me to explain this is a mannequin and we didn't walk up to some random woman taking a crotch shot.)

We swung by Grandma's "new condo" (grave) and saw they moved her flag when she got a new neighbor and didn't move it back.  FFS, it has her name on it...move it back you disrespectful tools!  So I moved it back and did some clean up since it'd been 2 weeks since we were able to go.

Not sure if preying mantis' have a season per say but we saw three of them this weekend and two babies were hanging out on our screen.

We got our workout in early yesterday so we had the day to hang out a little, go into the city a bit, then rented Chappaquiddick and settled in for the night.  (affiliate link)  Other than that, nothing too major here.  Just have one more thing to do for the patio and I'll be able to show the final reveal soon!

How was your weekend?

  1. Moose knuckle Lmao! Who would notice that, You! Can't wait to see the reveal. Had a great weekend with beach time yardwork and steaks on the Barbie.
    Have a fantabulous day!

  2. You don't realize how quickly the stores get rid of patio stuff after July 4th until you're trying to get some of that stuff after July 4th. It's like as soon as July 4th is over - boom! Back to school time! Everyone have a great week!

  3. I still get tense when I walk into stores during July and see all the summer stuff clearanced and back-to-school stuff already coming out. Made me sick as a kid and makes me sick now for kids!

Weekend was good. Got my hair done Saturday morning, took the dogs out for some walks and rides, and worked on laundry. Took plenty of hard naps, so there was a lot of sleeping going on. LOL Did a little online shopping in there too. Just need to get through today with the weather and cooler temps are due staring tomorrow. We had a tick in our bathroom sink, so they are out and about with all the dewy humidity. Ack!!!

  4. I hate seeing the back to school stuff in July. Almost as much as I hate that WalMart replaced their Halloween stuff with Christmas stuff the weekend before Halloween last year. C'mon people, let us enjoy one thing at a time. I can't believe I have less than a month left of summer break. How did that happen? Trying to find patio stuff after July 4th must be challenging, I don't envy you.

This weekend was pretty boring, but I was recovering from vacation. My son, my parents, and I all went to Yellowstone. Long road trip, long days with lots of time in the car and lots of walking. That place is stinkin' huge! It was a really great trip, but I needed a vacation from my vacation when I got back.
