Good Monday morning everyone! Ready for a new week? Well, it's here so ya better get ready, you dig?
We had a good weekend. Saturday we went to a festival and got in some carnival eats.
Elephant ears are my favorite until my teeth feel like they're going to drop out but it's my once a year summer indulgence so...quota met.
We got in a crap ton of walking that day. I suggested we just keep walking until our hips gave out and it happened about here:
So I basically burned off my elephant ear. Yay but ugh. Oh well, it's done. I've got other things to focus on than a planned oinkfest.
We were so tired when we got home, we decided to take a "nap." Two hours later. Neither of us could walk very well so I suggested we go down and stretch, roll and use the vibration board which helped tremendously. We did some reading then he went up to game and I went to bed.
Sunday we did a lot of talking and time got away from us. Then we went to visit grandma, got some stuff at Lowe's and got some produce for the week. Since I knew the legs were shot, I chose the paddling workout. I'm hoping to maybe get a paddle in this week but wind and weather will determine that so you can never really plan it since the meteorologists can't seem to find their butts with both hands these days. Seriously, how is it that they could more accurately predict the weather 20 years ago but now can't do it 12 hours out with a zillion more gadgets and technology?

We broke in the grill finally and had BBQ chicken, sweet potato, and corn on the cob. Then the weekend was over and we sobbed in the corner.
How was your weekend?

I had a great time at the festival and yes we did eat some junk food but we balanced it with some serious walking, so I feel good about that. It all just went by fast the way the weekends tend to do of course cause I'm wondering how it's Monday already again. Have a great week everybody!
ReplyDeleteI'm sad the weekend is over as well. I got a ton of yardwork done, donated blood, took my little in the lake paddleboating and out for awesome pizza with my neighbor. Have an amazing week!
ReplyDeleteI had a mini vacation, as I took off Thursday and Friday, but I was not ready to return to work this week. It has been crazy humid here, so it was nice not having to work or do much of anything on a set schedule. We took in a concert Friday night at a local fair and also took in some rides. Then on Saturday and Sunday I finally had a chance to make use of the kayak that we bought from Costco last winter. We paddle on the ocean, so the weather, tide and wind are always a consideration. My partner's son and I managed to get in two good long paddles at my father-in-law's cabin where we spent the remainder of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteYay for elephant ears!! Does da bestest!
ReplyDeleteWeekend was pretty good. I had a great meeting on Saturday morning and then had lunch with a friend and that was a lot of fun. Got home mid-afternoon and the hubs had just done all the vacuuming and had walked the pooches, which was wonderful. Sunday was grocery shopping and buying a new mower which went very smoothly compared to the fiasco a couple weeks ago. Then it was laundry, lots of paperwork and computer stuff. It's another nice weather day today so I've spent some time outdoors and enjoyed the fresh air.
Have a super duper week!
