Nothin' to see here

Happy Hump Day y'all.

I considered not posting anything because my Lord is it hard to find things to talk about when you're staring at the same four walls every day.  I thought about how I should clean and didn't.  I did a lot of work stuff and then baked/filmed a recipe and before I knew it, it was time to workout.  :-\

We did Turbo Fire 55 and had fish tacos for dinner.

I paid property taxes that were due.

Exciting?

Since it was Tuesday that meant new release day and we wanted to see Snatched with Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer.  Even though I feel like Amy's humor and attitude has changed a bit since her film star has risen, we thought she and Goldie might be a good comedic fit.  Meh.  I wanted to love the movie and while it did have a couple of laughs, it just wasn't what it should've been, in our opinion.  It kind of felt like maybe someone wrote a bunch of things when they were drunk and it was super funny then but kind of lame sober.  (IE:  Brother calling Goldie "m'ma."  Twas old the first time he uttered it much less after the 20th.)  Womp womp.

I happened to glance by Sur La Table because you know, it's what I do and I saw this...

Someone was asking for birthday ideas for me, I wonder if they have $1700 for those?

I'm going to try to work on my water more.  I am sucking hard on it this week but there are times I wonder if I'm getting enough for me and this whole 64 ounces or half your body weight BS is just that.  My rings are spinning on my fingers so I feel like I'm doing okay for me.

Sorry, I wish I had more to report that was all "bloggery" that makes people read blogs for inspiration but with a slight break in action on the DIY front, not much to gab about in our world.  But I know that doesn't interest some people either.  I don't want to write crap but also feel a pressure to pump something out every day whether it's interesting or not and I don't feel like that does a service to you. I've seen the commenting slide big time and I know that people are busy and don't always have time to say something and I understand that.  Not quite sure where I was going with that but maybe that's something for another post.

  1. Sometimes I imagine it is hard to blog about what seems like the mundane to you since it is your everyday life. But who knows, maybe even the slightest thing you say is helping someone. Likewise, it helps to get feedback or even just recognition for your work so I would hope that frequenters would offer up more comments so that you'll be encouraged to continue. So if anyone out there is reading this comment, please comment as well, I know she loves to read them!

    1. You know all to well. 10pm rolls around and I'm like "I got nothin'." LOL I don't want to feel like a fraud either but I've also been surprised what I've yanked outta me rump from "nothin'"

  3. Okay - I'm guilty of reading and not commenting, but I enjoy your blog a lot. The everyday stuff is good too - a peek into regular life. And I wish I could come for dinner - OMG your food looks amazing! Your hubby is a lucky man. I bought the Food Saver on your recommendation (with your link) since you showed how easy it is to use (P.S. I love it!). I also like your articles on Fridays. When you talk about personal things (family, weight-loss, etc), I think we can all relate - honest, real - good stuff. I only read a few blogs with any regularity - yours is one of them :-)

    1. I would surely love an extra guest for dinner. Just ask my cousin whose girlfriend doesn't cook how he feels about the meals the Mr gets nightly. LOL He'll give him "the look." I'm so glad you love the FoodSaver! Have you started using "FoodSaved" as an official verb yet? :-) Thanks so much for hangin' in with me!

  4. I read every day, but I've been checking in with my chromebook more often than my computer lately and I don't use the same email to login here as I do on the chromebook. That means it takes a Herculean effort to comment. I should either make that effort or get on the computer so I can comment.

Just day to day stuff is interesting too. It's like hearing from a far away friend - they don't have to be doing something amazing all the time, you're just glad to hear from them.

    1. Nah, I just figured you were running through the streets all summer screaming "I'm freeeeee!" When do they have you starting back to your pre-back to school stuff? Too soon I'm sure. Aww, that's sweet, thank you so much!

    2. I'm back on Monday, the kids are back the following Monday. It seems like every year the summer gets shorter. I did spend a good portion of the summer screaming I'm freeeeee - so spot on there.

  5. I love the days when you just sort of wing it - like writing in a diary. It's a reflection of everyone's "normal" life. Are you working on that "YUMMM" button yet??? lol

    1. I never really thought about that! I'm trying to get that YUM button but FB just doesn't want to cooperate!

  7. If I could afford the copper pots and pans, I'd give them to you in a heartbeat! This is when I wish I had one of those pot racks over an island to hang those babies up. Copper is my jam afterall. =o)

I've been disappointed with some of the movies I've seen (not a lot) because it seems like all the funny parts are in the trailers and that's it.

I don't think you should have to blog every day if you're not feeling it. The blog should be for YOU as well and what you want to talk about. If there's times you're not feeling it, I don't think you need to put pressure on yourself to put something out that you feel meh about. Your time is just as valuable as everyone else's and if you need a "mental clearing" break every now and again, then it's yours to have. That being said, I do think a lot of people are reading your blogs. I know for me, if I'm on my Fire, I can't comment from there because it doesn't recognize my login info and wants me to sign up with Google again. I'm so not a techy, so I wait until I'm back on my actual computer. I like everything you write, no matter what the subject is. xoxoxo

    1. Ugh... I am so with you on that part about the trailers showing all the best parts. You feel like you go to watch the movie and that there will just be more of that good stuff and then you realize that nope, it was just what they showed you already. Thanks for commenting!

    2. LOL... I know you would and I love you for that! I'd probably end up being too scared to use them!

Most of the funny parts are in the trailer these days which makes it easier to justify renting than spending $20 to be disappointed.

Yeah if I feel like I'm really phoning it in then I may do that. It's when I post stuff that puts me to sleep that I don't want to bore others. Not too much happens when you only tend to leave the house on weekends! Thank you for always commenting, I appreciate it!

  8. I look forward to reading your blog every time you blog and whatever subject you write about. As English is not my first language it's difficult for me to write well,so I don't comment on anyone's blog. You are one of the bloggers I read as soon as you post. Thanks

    2. Well if that's bad English, you're doing better than a lot of people so don't be shy! 😀 Thanks so much for reading!
