What I'm Reading This Week #26

You know what #26 means, right?  It means we're halfway through the year.  Holy crap!

While we ponder the lightning quick passage of time, let's also dig into...

The Ultimate Protein Guide  (In case you need to bone up.  Speaking of which, anyone regularly use bone broth?)

Leslie Jones Says No One Will Dress Her for the ‘Ghostbusters’ Premiere  ("I remember everything"  Speak it girl!)

Trying to Lose Weight? A Trainer Says DON'T Do These Workouts  (I don't think I have to worry on this one...especially since I'm not consistent with yoga)

Woman shamed for wearing shorts writes awesome Facebook post and we want to give her a high five  (I'd like to stand in that high five line after her response.  Too bad she didn't have a mic to drop)

The Really Important Skin Care Step You’re Probably Skipping  (I really love Acure Brightening Facial Scrub.  Amazing and natural)

10 Super Helpful Charts Every Baker Needs to Pin  (Definitely a good reference link!)

The 3 Foods to Avoid for a Healthier Gut (and Why It Matters)  (Apparently when they found out Splenda (which I hate) was bad for you, they shipped it all to Hawaii.  Sugar and Splenda were your only choices for tea)

Get the Best Sun Protection  (This is scary)

12 Ways to Get Your Mojo Back  (Takin' it to heart)

Can memory loss in Alzheimer's patients be reversed?  (I can't tell you how important this all is in the early stages.  I don't know about the supplement part but the other stuff was all prescribed in our case.)

Can curly hair work with bangs? I tried, and here’s what happened  (I had to crack up and it just confirmed that I'll just have to live with the forehead wrinkles because yeah, not this.)

14 Struggles Only Women With Anxiety Will Understand  (Basically all but #7.  If I'm early, I will wait in the car elsewhere.  It's just rude to show up early unless you've cleared it with the host/ess)

The reason there's a hole in your spaghetti spoon is ACTUALLY genius  (Holy sh*t, I didn't know that!!!  I just tested it and it's exactly 3 oz.  On the box portion is 2 oz...enough for a small child and 3 oz is what I use for us now.)

The rise and fall of the legendary Coco Palms hotel  (It looks so disgusting this past trip, I couldn't even look at it.  Thankfully they started demo this week.  We're hoping to renew vows there for our 25th)

Readers Poll: The 10 Best Cure Songs (I was ecstatic to see "Same Deep Water As You" on there.  I thought I was the only one who loved that song!)

This Teen Wore Her Mother's Prom Dress to Her Senior Prom  (This is pretty awesome!)

9 Ways to Help Your Dog Cope with Fireworks  (Don't forget da boom booms are coming!)

‘Sixteen Candles’ Movie Home for Sale  (FYI Mr...we're moving.  Seriously.  We both love that neighborhood so tell the job you're teleworking permanently.  *tapping foot*  I'll wait.)

Well, 4th of July is upon us.  Luckily I have some homemade baked beans and pre-grilled corn in the freezer if we decide we want some cookout food this weekend.  No plans to see fireworks or anything, we'll just watch them on the boob tube like every year.  Since it falls on a weekend, I'm sure a-holes will be setting them off from tonight to Tuesday.  Yay.

What's on tap for you this weekend?

  1. It's Friggin' July already! Where does the time go? Oh yeah, we waste most of it working. Blah! Well at least we can all enjoy a nice holiday weekend!

  2. We have sawdust days going on in town. This is a FREE festival with carnival rides and food and an old time encampment for the re-creators of that time period. Daniel Boone stuff. Now remember the key word free, which brings out all the crazy, looking for a fight group. So I will head out there early on Sunday, grab my elephant ear and get the heck out.
