Howdy do and happy last Friday of August! I hope you had a good week and if your weather was like ours, it was FINALLY under 93 degrees. Don't get me wrong, I know sweater weather isn't here but it was nice to not have the AC working overtime (set to 76) starting at 11am every day! It was nice to not walk out to water the garden and walk into a wall of humidity so I will take what I can get. Yes I really do want to know. I remember when I was excited to finally have a house and eagerly waited for trick or treaters only to end up getting like 3. And as you said we haven't gotten any at all in 20 years.
ReplyDeleteI was just a kid in the 70's, but in my opinion that was the best time for trick or treating, I think parents are to scared in this day and age, just trying to keep their kids safe, but it is nice to see that some people still go all out decorating. My husband and I have lived in our new area for 2 years now, no kids coming to our door or any of the neighbors, all this candy, bad for our diet!
DeleteI haven't had trick or treaters since 2005. It is now trunk or treats at churches or schools. I know parents today don't let their kids do much. I guess they don't trust people. Understandable since there aren't the consequences for bad behaviour there once was.
ReplyDeleteNo trick or treaters here, I noticed when my kids were young, 2004 time frame, people started turning lights off and not decorating back then, people were saying in was a "sin" and were not going to participate anymore. so glad we moved from that area in the south!
