What I'm Reading This Week #40

Happiest of Fridays to you all!  We've knocked down our first week of October.  Has the weather started changing for you guys because mama isn't happy with the whole:

(Or in my case sweatshirt/hoodie because I know not to even bother with the lightest of sweaters yet.)   I think it's coming soon though.

Now it's time to bother with:

These 3 Surprising Factors Increase Heart Attack Risk, Study Finds  (Those are surprising and what if the 'blue' spaces anywhere near you are brown...like poop...and depressing?)

New Study Shows An Improvement In Depressive Symptoms With Higher Omega-3 Consumption  (Good to know!  I'll have to give these a try especially since people note no fishy taste because ewww.)

6 Simple Glute Stretches to Do Every Single Day  (I'm down!  All the sitting is a crapper on the backside!)

Is Bone Broth Good for You?  (I hope so because I have a crockpot tortilla soup I want to make soon!)

Is It Bad To Skip Your Period On Birth Control? OB/GYNs Weigh In  (If only I knew this when I was planning my wedding 2 years out.  Literally planned my wedding around my period on the pill and when I told my gynie she said "you should've said something!  I would've told you you could skip whenever you want!"  I was 21, what the hell did I know?  Still wouldn't change the date though.)

Are My Assets Safe if a Spouse or I Go into a Nursing Home?  (So disgusting we should even have to think about this.  Good to know for you, your parents or even for your own kids to read up on.)

Roasted Sheet Pan Chicken with Shallots and Garlic  (Holy crap this sounds amazing- might have to break out the roaster.  I might switch out for root veggies like carrots, parsnips and turnips though.)

Quiet Time for Vermont’s Sleepy Hollow Farm  (I'll admit we drove by here and took a pic but it was literally drive up, roll down the window- click click- and leave.  There were already people there and the audacity people have to trespass sometimes close to the house is beyond me.  This is basically a one lane road but Instagram RUINED it.  So congrats to Vermonters for getting a piece of their home back during leaf peeping season.  Honestly, I think the ban should be longer.)

Get Four Free Covid Tests (Be ready for the holiday season)

Well, I decided to get to the rest of Mom's stuff and hoping I can figure out where the heck I'm going to stick it all.  It really sucks when you can't find some things but then run across other things you've never seen.  Some heart warming, some heart breaking.  So hopefully I can get that stuff into some kind of new home this weekend since the living room looks like a bomb went off again just when it was starting to show promise.  The weather could take a cool turn and if so, I'm going to be out in a sweatshirt leaping through fields...and then firing up the heating pad because I'm too old that shite!  Also need to get our spooky movies back on.  We've blown through all of the Jason's we can stand...and more so it might be time to invite Freddie to the party.

What is on your agenda this weekend?  Anything good?

  2. This week dragged on for me so I am glad it's Friday. I want to tackle a couple projects around the house so I can feel better about getting stuff done. Other than that no idea what kind of weekend it will be but definitely praying for some friends of ours and hoping for some good news for a change.

  3. My weekend will consist of reorganizing my small library, I say small, just wall to wall books in a converted small bedroom, I've been addicted to books since I was 3! Also trying out that sheetpan chicken sounds great, "said in the tony the tiger voice" I think i just aged myself, have a great weekend!

  4. The weather here has been the same. 80 degrees on Monday & 40 degrees today. Nothing special going on today. I need to try those stretches since I struggle with sciatica.
