Survival Mode Put Us Back to Zero
A lot of you came here many moons ago when I left Sparkpeople. I loved the community of that place and the support I got there. It was at the height of us being on our game. That motivation you have in the beginning when you're consistently rewarded with weight loss, smaller clothes, compliments to keep your motivation high and you somehow begin to step out of being invisible to the public to people smiling at you, opening doors or striking up conversation. You start to feel human. You don't have to worry about going to restaurants or 'fitting' somewhere. You can go to a wedding and see those God awful thin folding chairs and while you still don't like them, you're not concerned. Many of your worries that fit people never had to think of, have faded away. We started for the long haul in our 30's and that's when we had the most success, losing 226 and 190 lbs respectively. When we went on vacation, as long as we came back and got rig...
I do remember how jealous I was of you seeing Jurassic Park before me even though you had no desire to see it. I had read the book before it was ever going to be a movie and loved the book already so of course I was waiting for that one for a while. In the end I am glad you loved it and we've seen it together hundreds of times now so it's all good.
ReplyDeleteI felt so bad but I think we still saw it opening weekend.
DeleteHappy Monday! I lazed in the pool, stripped a dining room table i got for free on fb and hung out with my little. 4 years we've been hanging out. Yesterday she told me she loved me š.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could keep her!
Have a great week!
Aww, way to melt your heart!
DeleteI did a whole lot of tv watching, napping, and working, and that's about it. Was not terribly productive, although I was proud of myself for getting all the laundry cleaned and put away on Saturday. It's all about the highlights, eh? Ha!
ReplyDeleteYou're entitled to some down time! I hope you enjoyed!
DeleteBoring weekend here. Finished getting my house decluttered for the year so that's a win. Got a mammogram Saturday, and got called today that they need me back for a diagnostic. This is the 3rd time I've done this. I'm trying not to freak out, but I'm not having a lot of luck staying calm. I go back Aug 9th so I won't know anything for a while.
ReplyDeleteI know there's no sense in saying don't freak out because I'm in a similarish boat right now with another issue. I'll say a few prayers all is well. Tell them to FLATTEN the suckers especially if you have dense breasts.
Deletelol. Yeah - actually it did seem less painful and squishifying than usual. The last two times it turned out to just be dense tissue so I'm hoping for the same this time. Sending good vibes for your own health issue.
ReplyDeleteSnartLess podcast is great. I listened to episode with Gorge Clooney and havenāt laughed that hard in a while! Itās hosted by Jason Bateman, Will Annett, and Sean Hayes.
ReplyDeleteI don't listen to podcasts at all. Mom and I watched the episode on Forrest Gump and thoroughly enjoyed it - I love that show!
