Survival Mode Put Us Back to Zero

A lot of you came here many moons ago when I left Sparkpeople.  I loved the community of that place and the support I got there.  It was at the height of us being on our game.  That motivation you have in the beginning when you're consistently rewarded with weight loss, smaller clothes, compliments to keep your motivation high and you somehow begin to step out of being invisible to the public to people smiling at you, opening doors or striking up conversation.  You start to feel human.  You don't have to worry about going to restaurants or 'fitting' somewhere.  You can go to a wedding and see those God awful thin folding chairs and while you still don't like them, you're not concerned.  Many of your worries that fit people never had to think of, have faded away.  We started for the long haul in our 30's and that's when we had the most success, losing 226 and 190 lbs respectively.  When we went on vacation, as long as we came back and got rig...

Feet Up Weekend Recap

**yawn**

This is the part of the post where something interesting would go that we did with our weekend but it was as non-eventful as you can get.  Unless you consider watching episode after episode of Escape to the Chateau DIY pure excitement.  We were happy to see Movies That Made Us Season 2 came out on Netflix Friday so we watched Back to the Future Friday night before conking out.  Then we blew through the rest of them (Pretty Woman, Jurassic Park and Forrest Gump) on Saturday.  I thought there were more than that but we were sad when it was over.  It reminded me of when JP came out.  I had ZERO interest in seeing it and the Mr was all over it.  We'd been dating about 18 months at that time.  I was babysitting my cousins that summer and since they were handfuls, I promised if they were good all week, we'd do something fun on Friday.  Of course they wanted to see Jurassic Park when it came out and I had to say yes.  The Mr was SO irked I got to see it before he did when I didn't even want to but I made it up to him by taking him because it was so good and is one of our favorite movies.

I'm kind of out of commission right now and the Mr was kind enough to make some meals over the weekend and be a rock for me in general.  He did a great job and I'm so thankful for his help and constant support.  I talked to a few of my friends over the weekend and it did my heart good.

I saw something about podcasts and how everyone listens to them.  I only occasionally listen to WTF with Marc Maron but nothing with any consistency so I'll ask you, any podcasts you listen to on the regular?

Sorry it's a snoozer this Monday!

What did you do this weekend?

  1. I do remember how jealous I was of you seeing Jurassic Park before me even though you had no desire to see it. I had read the book before it was ever going to be a movie and loved the book already so of course I was waiting for that one for a while. In the end I am glad you loved it and we've seen it together hundreds of times now so it's all good.

  2. Happy Monday! I lazed in the pool, stripped a dining room table i got for free on fb and hung out with my little. 4 years we've been hanging out. Yesterday she told me she loved me šŸ˜.
I wish I could keep her!
    Have a great week!

  3. I did a whole lot of tv watching, napping, and working, and that's about it. Was not terribly productive, although I was proud of myself for getting all the laundry cleaned and put away on Saturday. It's all about the highlights, eh? Ha!

  4. Boring weekend here. Finished getting my house decluttered for the year so that's a win. Got a mammogram Saturday, and got called today that they need me back for a diagnostic. This is the 3rd time I've done this. I'm trying not to freak out, but I'm not having a lot of luck staying calm. I go back Aug 9th so I won't know anything for a while.

    1. I know there's no sense in saying don't freak out because I'm in a similarish boat right now with another issue. I'll say a few prayers all is well. Tell them to FLATTEN the suckers especially if you have dense breasts.

  5. lol. Yeah - actually it did seem less painful and squishifying than usual. The last two times it turned out to just be dense tissue so I'm hoping for the same this time. Sending good vibes for your own health issue.

  6. SnartLess podcast is great. I listened to episode with Gorge Clooney and haven’t laughed that hard in a while! It’s hosted by Jason Bateman, Will Annett, and Sean Hayes.

  7. I don't listen to podcasts at all. Mom and I watched the episode on Forrest Gump and thoroughly enjoyed it - I love that show!
