Last year, I got super into scrolling dreamy farmhouse type Instagram accounts. I have a horrible time styling things so I was looking for ideas. Then came holiday time and my goodness, the inspiration out there that these people bring is amazing. Even if I never use a single idea, just scrolling their accounts brings me peace if only for a few minutes and I think we could all use some of that, couldn't we?
Not only does Lori have the dreamiest home you've ever laid eyes on, she also has a shop in Southold NY on Long Island which is on my to do list. I have literally cried looking at her home and the items she sells. There's just this coziness to it all, very little clutter and her ceiling in her kitchen was actually the inspiration for our kitchen reno!
I can't even tell you how much I love Shannan's sense of style and her NJ home is to die for! The love and attention she puts into her home is evident and she sees the potential in so many wood pieces many wouldn't even attempt to do. (Part of that courage came from Lori's projects above!) She's been responsible more than a few times for me picking up decor I didn't know I needed. I love listening to her NC accent on her stories too. You get the feeling you could be sipping sweet tea on the porch with her as you try not to drool on her furniture. Next year, her home will be featured in the Christmas edition of Country Home magazine! I can't wait!
You may recognize Leslie's gorgeous home because it's been featured in commercials and movies it's so perfect! You can see some of the BTS stuff here on her IG account. She has a blog as well with all kinds of great decorating ideas and recipes too. I could stare at the outside of the house (inside too) for hours and obviously, Hollywood agrees.
Sandy at the Vintage Whisperer has such a cozy style and an adorable pup who occasionally pops up. I love the way she decorates for the holidays and it was hard to choose a photo to represent her space but I couldn't help but laugh at the dog all like "put down the camera and pet me. woman!" I can't help but froth over all of the different collections of vintage goodies she has to display at all times of the year.
Tina and Taylor are a mother/daughter duo that love sharing their passion for decorating. I had to include this pic from the old house because that fireplace is the reason I started following the account in the first place. *Swoooon* But it's fun to watch people use their decor in new spaces and get ideas for how to decorate and re-imagine your own things because of it!
Blair at Patina and Pine has a beautiful, homey style that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay awhile. I can't be the only one ready to grab a book and cozy up in that nook to lose myself for the afternoon! Her place was the first time I ever saw a mirror gallery wall and fell in love. But I can't even find one mirror much less a wall full of them which I'm sure the Mr is relieved about!
Alyssa of Cottage and Pine has such a beautiful, effortless style that you want to cozy up with a cup of anything on her couch and chat a while. Nestled in the Berkshires in MA, she also has an Etsy shop you may want to peek at when she's selling items. And that beam/corbel combo in the kitchen?! Yes, please!
When I showed the Mr a pic of Tiffany's jaw dropping kitchen at Forever Six Acres, I said if we had a big house, that would be exactly how I'd probably decorate it. He smiled, agreed, then laughed nervously. Don't worry sir, I have no plans to buy a new house...yet. If you like brick fireplaces and dreamy beams, you'll love this place. I believe this is her first Christmas in this new build so I can't wait to see what she does in there!
Obviously, I follow quite a few more but could only put a few in here. You can click on their followers for similar minded accounts and see if anyone else hits your fancy. I hope these have given you some fun accounts to check out if to do nothing else than scroll their peaceful feeds. They give me a nice, serene feeling and I will take that any day of the week!
All pictures are copyright of their respective feeds/accounts.
What brings you some Christmas inspo or peace while scrolling?

I love how the dog in the pic from the vintage whisperer is looking at the camera like "Another picture of me?" I do recall you showing me that kitchen in the last pic and I like how our kitchen resembles it in a lot of ways - just about half the size.
ReplyDeleteI followed every single one of these based on your recommendations! Love what I'm seeing!
