What I'm Reading This Week #22

Happy Friday everyone.  I hope you've had a great week and are ready for another scintillating weekend.  We spent the week re-watching season 3 of Dexter, got out for a walk or two in the sweltering heat and looking forward to a 20 degree dip in temps this weekend even if all we do is hang out on the patio.

Let's dip into...

12 Things Making a Huge Comeback During the Pandemic  (Bidet was literally the first thing we bought.)

14 Cute And Clever Change-The-Date Cards For Postponed Weddings  (Some really cute ones!)

People Are Posting What ‘Extra Pay’ They Receive As Encouragement For Working During The Pandemic And Some Say It’s Humiliating   (I understand both points of view but yeah, "here's some candy in exchange for potentially deadly disease?"  Just do nothing at that point.)

30 Of The Coolest ‘Covid Projects’ Shared By People On Reddit   (People are so talented!)

3 Mental Blocks That Keep You From Doing What You Say You Want to Do  (Get out of my head)

How to Get Shaker Style  (Shake what your mama gave you)

48 Can't-Miss Summer DIY Craft Projects to Get in the Seasonal Spirit  (Super cute stuff to occupy your time and spruce up for summer)

Exercise and Plantar Fasciitis   (The struggle is real)

65 DIY Father's Day Gifts for the Guy Who Has Everything  (15 and 16 are pretty cute)

The Dark Reality of House Flipping  (In case anyone thinks it's as easy as it looks on TV)

He Grew Up Without A Dad. Now, He's Become The Internet's Dad On YouTube  (This dude isn't that much older than me and I'm still going to watch his videos.  My dad checked out when I was 8 (and wasn't there much before that anyway as a third shifter I never saw) so I'm sure there is still much for me to learn.)

This Mansion's Basement Looks Like Disneyland's Main Street During Christmas  (LOVE IT!  You can keep the rest of the house, we'll live in the basement.  You can see the whole listing here but for the basement start with slide 54)

Enjoy the last weekend of May.  I've thought about going paddling this weekend but we haven't blown up/cleaned off the equipment from last season so I don't know if there's enough time to do it.  Plus I think it's still going to be crowded and I'd hate to drive 90 minutes just for it to be uncomfortably crowded.  We'll see.  I know we'll regret not paddling in 70 degrees tho.

Anything planned for the weekend?

  1. The week went by reasonably fast for me so I am glad for that. Just looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. Anything after that is icing on the cake. Have a great weekend everyone!

  2. I am happy for today's much cooler temps with a lovely breeze out of the north so there's no humidity. I did the grocery shopping for work, and we just cut the lawn, so I'm thrilled to have that done for the weekend. Then it's laundry and getting bills ready for June. I work this weekend so I'm hoping to get some nap time in where needed. We'll grocery shop tomorrow morning so we'll see if there's some good findings for the grill. Have a wonderful weekend with a cool breeze on your patio!
