What I'm Reading This Week #29
Howdy do all and welcome to your Friday. I hope your week treated you well and you're ready to recharge a bit. You know, when I started this gardening business, I had delusions of like, actually enjoying it maybe with my morning tea before the day got hectic. source Instead it's like the second the plants went into the ground, Mother Nature turned it to 11 and hasn't let up. The wall of humidity is ridiculous! I can't even go out to water or do something simple without looking like I was back on the chain gang for 8 hours. Or I get to see the 500th mistake I've made and end up ripping out my strawberry plants or moving other plants because they might be too close together. Watching my 4 puny tomatoes laugh at me as they choose not to ripen or grow while other people talk about mad harvests in which they can't pick them fast enough. I will say the bees have been making me happy out front. I was at the planter and one was working on a ...
I always thought of myself as a night owl too but that changed with being an adult and pretty much having to be out the door by 7:30 every day. Now that I am teleworking full time during the pandemic I find it harder each day to even get out of bed in time to log in but somehow manage it anyway.
ReplyDeleteI'm somewhere in between. Like The Mr. I have been forced into becoming a bit of a morning person. To get to work on time I need to be out the door by 7:30, and if I want to fit in a short morning workout I need to be out of bed by 6:00. I have learned that morning workouts work best for me, as I am much more likely (95%) to skip an afternoon workout if left to my own devices. Now I get it done before I really know what is happening to my body. And I am back in bed for 10:00 and asleep for 10:45, as I usually read a little bit before turning out the light.
ReplyDeleteIf left to my own devices I would probably get up around 9:00 and in bed around midnight. I find I have the most amount of energy around lunch time. That is when I get stuff done. I like having a slow two hours to wake up and then I'm ready to get my day started.
I'm definitely a night owl. During the summers my sleep schedule gravitates that way - probaby I would end up somewhere around bed at 2-3am and sleep until 10-11am if I was left totally to my own devices. Because I have to adult though, I have to be up by 6 for work so I have to go to bed earlier than I'd like to. Working from home has seen me progressively staying up and getting up later and later.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting one because I'm such a horrible sleeper no matter what time of day it is. There has only been one time in my life that I slept like clockwork. It was during the year before I moved to Phoenix. I worked in Worker's Comp and had standard hours of 9 - 5. I'd be in bed by 9pm at the latest and up at 6am totally refreshed. That was over 25 years ago. LOL I'm very much a morning person where I prefer to be up early and get most of my errands and chores done in the morning if possible. There is something so mentally freeing for me to drag myself out of bed, get stuff done, and then know I have the whole afternoon to chill and do whatever I want, especially when a long nap is an option. Now with my new schedule for work, I get 3 hours of sleep at the most for 3 days, and God willing much more the other 4 days! Still working on that part...
ReplyDeleteNight owl but never really had a regular schedule. Some of my earliest memories are arguing with my parents trying to get me to stop playing and go to sleep. I think I used to talk to myself past midnight. I joke that I was born several weeks late and haven't been on time since.
