Survival Mode Put Us Back to Zero

A lot of you came here many moons ago when I left Sparkpeople.  I loved the community of that place and the support I got there.  It was at the height of us being on our game.  That motivation you have in the beginning when you're consistently rewarded with weight loss, smaller clothes, compliments to keep your motivation high and you somehow begin to step out of being invisible to the public to people smiling at you, opening doors or striking up conversation.  You start to feel human.  You don't have to worry about going to restaurants or 'fitting' somewhere.  You can go to a wedding and see those God awful thin folding chairs and while you still don't like them, you're not concerned.  Many of your worries that fit people never had to think of, have faded away.  We started for the long haul in our 30's and that's when we had the most success, losing 226 and 190 lbs respectively.  When we went on vacation, as long as we came back and got rig...

Trader Joe's Pumpkinpalooza 2018

It's dropped y'all.  Pumpkin goodness abounds at Trader Joe's and I didn't even get all of it but here's a peep of what you can expect to see.

Pumpkin cheesecake and...

...pumpkin marble mousse!  Yes, please!

Pumpkin ginger cones.

If we weren't going to two other stores, we totally would've gotten those.  Must go back for them.

Then you have the mecca

Pumpkin waffles, Pumpkin Ice Cream, Pumpkin Bar and sweet potatoes and butternut squash items.

The beauty holy grail...

They nailed it..."as gourd as it gets."  Get a few tubs of this stuff.  Give it to whoever is hosting Thanksgiving, give it to your boss when you ask for a raise, give it to your stone hearted mother in law if you have one, it will make your life better.

Apple Cider foaming hand soap is available too.

Then you'll proceed to sniff your hands the rest of the day like Mary Catherine Gallagher.

The pups can get in on the act too.

(SB, note the TFT rocketing over the pumpkin on the right box!)

Then in addition to pumpkin butter, they have this...

If you like carrot cake, this could be dangerous.  You and a spoon in a dark corner.

That's just a taste of what you'll find.  I'd be thrown out for being a paparazzi if I took any more pics.

What's your favorite TJ's pumpkin product?

  2. I've never actually made it in to the TJ's by my folks' this time of year so none of their pumpkin stuff for me. I do like pumpkin *almost* everything though. Coffee, cereal (pumpkin spice Life = yum), bread... I tried pumpkin spice ham last year and that wasn't a winner, and neither was the pumpkin pie yogurt.

  3. Love it! I started seeing some pumpkin stuff in the stores as well, but nothing like TJ's! I really like pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie the most. I'm happy to say the dogs get 100% pure pumpkin every morning on the dry food and they love it. I have five cans in my cupboard now. It's supposed to be cooler by next weekend (we'll see) and if it is, I plan on going to the apple orchard for the first time on Monday to stroll and peruse when it's not quite so busy. I'll be all over their apple butter and will have to see if they have pumpkin butter -- I actually can't remember.
