The Story Before the Bathroom Reveal
Y'all, it has been a ride. Why are all of our renos involving trades always held up? Now I could understand the kitchen reno which began March 16, 2020 which is the week all hell broke loose. The kitchen wasn't finished until July that year and it really had nothing to do with the pandemic. There were quality control issues with two doors and if you think I was settling for lint sealed under clear coat and the same two holes caused by an industrial stapler on three remakes of a door, you're nuts. We actually redid our bathroom in 2022. Do you remember? Probably not because I hated it so much I never did a reveal! The deep ocean blue was a pain in my ample ass and for almost three years because it never stopped running. We had white chair railing and water from drying our hands or showers constantly dripped blue and would pool on top of the white railing sending me into fits on the daily. Because we'd gone through three different blue...
You are right, this would be the perfect filling for a gingerbread ice cream sandwich. Oh how I miss those. Those things signified the start of the Christmas season for me and I would give anything to see them bring those back. I know they still have other things, but nothing worth getting in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteyum.. that would be a tasty treat~~
ReplyDeleteI do like gingerbread, but I don't really go out of my way to find it. One lady at work usually brings some in this time of year, and that's enough for me.
ReplyDeleteI love eggnog though. I can't get enough of that, eggnog everything! The one thing about the way to early Christmas stuff every year that I actually enjoy is seeing eggnog on the shelf at Halloween.
I am a gingerbread fan. Making an actual gingerbread with some real whipped cream has always been one of my easy go-to deserts when I'm having people over for dinner in the winter months. I've also got gingerbread men ready for decorating right now in my house. And when I make my own I always double the amount of ginger in the recipe. I like the extra bite it brings to offset the sweetness.
ReplyDeleteI love ginger but prefer snaps to bread. I make a cookie recipe from Alton Brown that's full of gingery goodness. I'm not sure any gingerbread ice cream would measure up and I'm so cheap I won't spend $5 on a pint. Plus I have issue with milk/cream that get worse every year I age. I'm looking forward to testing a couple recipes for cashew ice cream.
ReplyDeleteI remember those gingerbread ice cream sandwiches! I thought they still had them, but maybe it's mint I'm thinking of...really overwhelming mint. I LOVE gingerbread. Bread, cookies, ice cream, candles, you name it. It's a flavor that never gets old for me. Yum!
