Our Strength Workouts for the Coming Month

source Note:  I am sharing what our routine will be, this isn't suggesting you do it.  Consult your doctor before starting any new exercise program. First off, a very happy birthday to my bestie!  Wishing you an evening sans bra in front of the tube, enjoying your gifts and knowing you're loved! 🎂🎁 *** We have officially been doing strength training again for two full months.  I've got to admit, I'm proud of us.  It's hard going from none, being upset with how far your strength capacity has plummeted and discouraged to making sure you stick with it every week.  June was 2x week until the final week trying to build a base and then the final week and through July we went to 3x week.  This past week, I tried to up it for most exercises to 15 lbs.  I don't feel as strong as I did when we were doing it regularly but I'm getting there.  I know it's more important now than ever so we can maintain not just base strength but hopefully improve our b...

Scenes from the weekend

A walk in the park with a friend looking on...

A sign from our departed pup.  Two of her favorite toys in one figurine with a sign to do the last thing she did on this Earth.  (She literally jumped in a petunia patch)

So I took her advice...

Sunday brunch.

We decided exercise was going to be cleaning this crap hole.

A good scrubbin' was in order and I'm gonna feel it today.

Dinner of jalapeno salmon with pineapple jalapeno salsa, roasted asparagus and longans with watermelon.

What did you do this weekend?

  1. Nice backyard space! I grilled asparagus for the first time...delish! Every time I had it at a restaurant it was mushy. It was yard cleanup weekend for me. One of my bffs came out for a visit, first time in a year. Her Mom is going through same thing as your gma and lives with her so she's been Mia for about a year. She's also a new gma and I got to see the bebe for the first time! Also went to a friend's house for a barbecue followed by a fun game of dominoes.
    Have a great week!

  3. Pretty good weekend overall but too short as usual. Glad we got the patio cleaned up. It's always nice to have the option to go out there when the weather is cooperating.

  4. I love that figurine. Our first dog's favorite toy was a hedgehog that mom gave him. Any time she's come over he'd dig through his stash of toys and pull out that one. =o)

This weekend was laid back and I was grateful for that. Went to a meeting, took the dogs for some drives, and puttered around the house. That's about it. Oh yeah I was supposed to meet a friend for breakfast and was at the restaurant for 45 minutes and she never showed. I felt bad for taking up the waitress's table so I ordered breakfast and left her a tip that would have covered both of us. My friend apparently had a migraine and emailed me instead of calling me. I didn't think to have to look at my emails at 8am on a Sunday so I didn't get the message until I got home at 10am. Not happy about that. But I enjoyed a nice meal out by myself!

  5. I didn't get a lot done this weekend. I went to my folks' Thursday to pick up my boy and then came home on Saturday with a stop at a birthday party on the way back. Sunday I made it back to the gym (after a too long hiatus, time to get my chit together) and took him to the TMNT movie. Today is a day for yardwork. I'm so not looking forward to it, but it won't do itself.

A walk in the park and a cute little reminder to slow down and take are of yourself and then a great brunch. It sounds like a pretty good weekend for you.
