What I'm dreaming of this week

I looked through the links I bookmarked and there were two this week.

Uh, yeah.

I guess I've been dreaming more getting past the freeze point so we can plant flowers, vacations and general tomfoolery.  So instead let's dream a bit.  I'm going to share five of my top vacation destinations.

1.  Tahiti  (Includes Bora Bora, Moorea, etc)

(via)
Tahiti and staying in an overwater bungalow has always been a dream of ours.  I pray we get to make that a reality some day!

2.  Galapagos Islands

(via)

I would love to do one of those cruises that lets you see all the animals there.  It's supposed to be amazing!

3.  Self guided movie tour of Los Angeles

(via)
I used to spend my summers as a teen in LA but the Mr has never been (except the airport).  You guys know what movie buffs we are and this would be the ultimate movie tour experience for us and the Six Feet Under house is at the top of our list.  Of course we'd have to add on three days just to account for sitting in traffic.

4.  Yellowstone National Park

(via)
This was actually going to be our vacation this year but we found out the time of year we were looking at could still have some snow issues and all parts of the park weren't open.  So we'll save this one for a fall vacation sometime.

5.  Oregon/Pacific Northwest

(via)
Obviously driving to the Goonies location will be on the list but Oregon looks beautiful and I suppose we'd better make a trip to Seattle or a friend of ours whose been begging for us to visit will slap us.

Name three to five vacation destinations you want to go to!  Let's dream together!

  1. This fall, I was supposed to drive to Ottawa for a half marathon and I was going to roam Ottawa and Montreal on the drive back. A friend is getting married the same time so I can't lol

I have like 3 days still of PTO I rolled over from 2014 (rolled over 7.5 days), on top of what I'll get in 2015 (15 days). I'm currently thinking of rolling over a bunch into 2016 (since my Canada trip got cancelled) and taking 2 weeks or so off next year and driving out west.

I want to see Yellowstone, Colorado, mountains, all of that.
For some reason, I also want to go to Montana.
I see Houston next April for the Avon Walk since I missed this year's due to breaking my leg.
I also want to go to the pacific northwest, I went to Portland OR for a job interview in college. It's gorgeous so I definitely want to go back. See their mountains, Seattle coffee...

  2. I went to Yellowstone as a kid, and I'd love to go back. The Pacific Northwest is another one I'd like to see. Madagascar is definitely on my list, I've watched documentaries and I just think it would be amazing. If Tahiti is as amazing as the pictures look then definitely it would be on my list. I've also always wanted to go to Maine. I'm not sure what exactly I'd do once I got there, but it's on my list.

  3. My top three are: Russia, Trinidad and Sicily. Although now you've got me wanting to go to the Galapagos!! Also, if you come to Yellowstone and want some advice let me know! It's just three hours away and I could recommend some hot springs, places to check out, etc.

  4. FYI - A travel agency that I like to use, Adventure Life (http://www.adventure-life.com/), organizes travel to the Galapagos Islands. It was a consideration for my boyfriend and I earlier this year, but when travel was factored into the time it didn't quite work out. Instead we settled for a trip organized by them to Costa Rica. We had a fantastic time.

As for where I would like to travel to next, Peru, Croatia, Turkey, Iceland and Egypt are on the top of my list today. However, priority on the list changes frequently and it is very long. I love to travel and set myself a goal to get one new stamp in my passport each year. I missed out last year due to work considerations, so I have to make up for it this year. Not sure where I plan to go, but it will be somewhere.

  5. I've been reading you for a few years and only commented maybe once but I have to comment on this! I live near Seattle, so I definitely second that! I'm sure your friend would tell you but coming in July or August is the best time. Our summers are so nice.
