What I'm Reading This Week #18
Happy Friday everyone and welcome to May. We had a long week of getting the garage together so the Mr could finally park in it six weeks later. We still have some work to do in there as far as purging and such but we needed to get the space useable again since it's been a holding tank for our old countertop/sink, old grill waiting to be picked up by a friend, insulation, built planters and patio table and extra fencing from critter cages. We haven't had the mental drive to figure out how we get the shelves in order. I think I'm going to have to look up some garage organizing articles or something because it's really overwhelming to look at it all. If we can get a plan together to tackle it then maybe we'll have our weekend plans for next weekend as long as it's not hot yet because we don't want to be in a sweatbox. Now let's peek into: Dietitians Agree, Eating More Might Be the Secret to Your Strongest Year Ever (Volume eating FTW. It's been ...
This fall, I was supposed to drive to Ottawa for a half marathon and I was going to roam Ottawa and Montreal on the drive back. A friend is getting married the same time so I can't lol
ReplyDeleteI have like 3 days still of PTO I rolled over from 2014 (rolled over 7.5 days), on top of what I'll get in 2015 (15 days). I'm currently thinking of rolling over a bunch into 2016 (since my Canada trip got cancelled) and taking 2 weeks or so off next year and driving out west.
I want to see Yellowstone, Colorado, mountains, all of that.
For some reason, I also want to go to Montana.
I see Houston next April for the Avon Walk since I missed this year's due to breaking my leg.
I also want to go to the pacific northwest, I went to Portland OR for a job interview in college. It's gorgeous so I definitely want to go back. See their mountains, Seattle coffee...
I went to Yellowstone as a kid, and I'd love to go back. The Pacific Northwest is another one I'd like to see. Madagascar is definitely on my list, I've watched documentaries and I just think it would be amazing. If Tahiti is as amazing as the pictures look then definitely it would be on my list. I've also always wanted to go to Maine. I'm not sure what exactly I'd do once I got there, but it's on my list.
ReplyDeleteMy top three are: Russia, Trinidad and Sicily. Although now you've got me wanting to go to the Galapagos!! Also, if you come to Yellowstone and want some advice let me know! It's just three hours away and I could recommend some hot springs, places to check out, etc.
ReplyDeletegreat stuff about the area here: http://www.visitmt.com/yellowstone.html
DeleteFYI - A travel agency that I like to use, Adventure Life (http://www.adventure-life.com/), organizes travel to the Galapagos Islands. It was a consideration for my boyfriend and I earlier this year, but when travel was factored into the time it didn't quite work out. Instead we settled for a trip organized by them to Costa Rica. We had a fantastic time.
ReplyDeleteAs for where I would like to travel to next, Peru, Croatia, Turkey, Iceland and Egypt are on the top of my list today. However, priority on the list changes frequently and it is very long. I love to travel and set myself a goal to get one new stamp in my passport each year. I missed out last year due to work considerations, so I have to make up for it this year. Not sure where I plan to go, but it will be somewhere.
I've been reading you for a few years and only commented maybe once but I have to comment on this! I live near Seattle, so I definitely second that! I'm sure your friend would tell you but coming in July or August is the best time. Our summers are so nice.
