Non Scale Victories This Week
During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses. I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses. My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights. Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through. On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower. I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. MMMM. I just ate that and I thank you for the tip. It was yummy! Great job on the water! I know that is hard to do but once you get used to peeing so much, it's definitely helpful in many ways.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it! Yeah the water was a bit much to get used to at first but now my bladder has seemed to adjust.
DeleteI like to do the potatoes and eggs thing too - delish and it sticks with you.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does!
DeleteI went to zumba last night. I'm going to tackle some heavy house cleaning today so that'll count for today. I'm doing a little better on the exercise front, but I need to get back to tracking calories. It's just so time consuming and tedious, and when I was sick I stopped. Getting back into it is hard, but I know that it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteZumba is so fun! I forgot about it, might have to bust that out again! It is tedious but a good way to keep yourself in line or get back into it. ;-)
DeleteThat salad looks great, as does your breakfast. I think it's so important to be creative in our cooking and presentations of the food, in order to stay on this healthy journey. It sure makes taking the "high road" easier, when the choice is so yummy-looking and tasting! The Mister is a lucky man. I have always found that a salad tastes so much better when someone else has prepared it. Speaking of the "High Road," that is my favorite breakfast choice at Village Inn. I had it yesterday, you get hash browns, scrambled egg whites, two sausage links and an English Muffin, for a total of 550 calories. I always request "no butter" on my muffin, and use sugar-free jelly instead. I have a feeling they smear that butter on every single English Muffin that goes out of their kitchen, without regard to the at least 100 calories involved, and that 100 added calories is not included in the 550-calorie total they list on the menu. So when I add a couple containers of 10-calorie sugar-free jelly to my muffin, it's a very good trade-off!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. You really do eat with your eyes first. Yeah I always ask for my steak with no butter or as they like to call it "finishing sauce"...aka butter. Like I need the extra 100+ calories soaking in there. Good on you with the breakfast!
DeleteBoth those meals look divine! Sounds like a fantastic week so far!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks mama!
DeleteYou are rockin' it girlfriend!! *snap, snap, snap* (go ahead...picture it...z-snap right there...LOL)
ReplyDeleteYou know I did!!
DeleteI definitely need to improve my water. For the past two weeks I've really struggled to take it all in at work because I've been working at two different desks and my equilibrium is thrown off there, but I'm really feeling it. My legs are retaining water and my ankles....oy! It starts around 2pm and then it dawns on me that I haven't had my water. Duh. I think I'm going to set an alarm on my email that will pop up on my screen every 30 minutes to remind me to swig. I was doing great at it and something has just been "off" recently. Part of it is I took myself off my bc pills so this is my first full month without them so I'm going through a HUGE hormone adjustment as well too. Water would definitely help with that.
ReplyDeleteYes, those reminders will definitely help. I set the microwave timer to go off so I had to get up off my butt too. Oh man, hormone adjustments have to be fun...not.
