Did Statins Help?
Pardon if this is riddled with typos but it's 2:30am. I got my lipid blood test results back yesterday. I'm going to assume heading into perimenopause years shot my numbers up because nothing has changed food wise (though stress wise it's been astronomical the past few years which apparently contributes as well). A reminder, I was at 264 at the beginning of December and my shuck and jive speech to get my shit together didn't land well with her. After a talk with my bestie who is on them convinced me (us) with her experience, I relented and agreed to go on them. After almost 4 months on a 10mg dose (the lowest dose available), I'm at 184. So, I guess they work. 😂 I will also say this is with zero dietary changes and a pretty scattered workout schedule the past two months. I hope in time when all of the projects are done and we are finally able to focus on ourselves that I can eventually go off of them with hard work. I'm pleased with...
I had a similar week. Lots of stress, high calorie days and still lost 2lbs(when my weight loss has been kinda stalled lately) I was totally expecting a gain! Our bodies are weird!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Five pounds - I'm a jealous cow.
ReplyDeleteI love the dinner pictures. I'm pretty sure its what drew me in the first place. I get good ideas there. But it is the holidays and dinner will still be there when things settle down. Rest your foot and your brain and enjoy your down time.
Woohoo! Five pounds! That's awesome. :) My body tends to go in "whooshes" too. My weight loss chart looks like an EKG sometimes.
ReplyDeleteway to go on the WL!!!awesome!yay...u do "do" a lot for christmas...u r a rockstar:)..
ReplyDeletewell I am cleaning and setting things in the house before my parents arrive for their 3month stay with us!! yay....havent seen them since my wedding last november..so cant wait..it will be fun...showing them DC...the white house and all...zoo lights...:D
Wouldn't that be fantastic! Hawaii for the winter and no holiday stress. Then again you'd miss the snow. Of course this winter you might miss the snow from your own living room.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 5 lbs no matter how short-lived it may be.
Congratulations on 5 lbs!!! Our bodies make no sense sometimes, so we'll take good news when we can get it! =o) Plans for the weekend included getting 2 new tires for the car, eye doctor, Christmas shopping and hockey game tonight. My father-in-law passed away on Wednesday so the whole family drama door just got opened again with the mother. I'm seriously considering running away where no one can find me. =o)
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap Batman!! 5 down, is fan-freakin-tastic!!! Congratulations! Today, I'm making your gingersnap truffles, so far so good. They're currently in the freezer and I'm going to get started on the chocolate *fingers crossed*
ReplyDeleteI'll take it! Finally got the courage and remembered at the same time to get on the scale after about three months of paying no attention whatsoever. I'm up 17. Just hope that two or three of those was water retention from a very salty previous day's food, but WTH! I haven't been going THAT crazy! Or have I? No one to blame but myself, and no plans for today except being lazy yet again. At least all Christmas plans and preparations are done.
ReplyDeleteNice job!! I'm happy the scale moved for you...it always gives me a little emotional boost when that happens. My body is weird, too. I'll go 12-15 days without any movement and then whoosh...5 pounds down. Drives me bonkers, but I've come to expect that that's my body's preferred way and who am I to fight it, you know? Enjoy your relaxation today!
ReplyDeleteBodies and scales are equally weird. Glad it went your way this week!
ReplyDeleteToday is a fleece-and-snuggly day for me. I'm enjoying myself tremendously!
Well, that ought to make the crappy foot injury feel a little better! I am in the kitchen all day today--made 6 huge homemade pizzas and 2 big cakes for a sweet 16 party for a friend's daughter tomorrow. Still have to decorate the cakes so it's back to the kitchen I go!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that 5-lbs loss! You earned it, exercising thru the pain!! With you--I am confident that you will never give up--it's a lifestyle and no matter how long it takes--in the long-run, the scale will continue the downward trend. Love the recipes and your blog. I read every single one!! Your comment on my 3-yr anniversary blog cracked me up--I am not now nor will I ever be a "sexy beast" but it sure made me smile!!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! Don't question it, just embrace it. :) I've decided to not weigh myself until after Christmas--I am waving the white flag. Too much baking this week. :(
ReplyDeleteI hope your foot is better in time for the New Year!
