Non Scale Victories This Week

During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses.  I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses.  My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights.  Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through.  On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower.  I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. Top 12 of 2012

Okay, I'm going to be lame and do a Top 12 of '12 round up because I'm still in Sickville with the Mr (who has a different type of cold than I do) and I lack creative intellect to come up with something snazzy on my own.  Without further adieu in order from 12 to 1 (most read) posts, here are the top 12 of `12!

12.  Christmas Wrapping, Scream Eggs and bingo

11.  Sharing the Aloha

10.  Lightening the Emotional Load

9.  What was supposed to be here

8.  Tri-Color Potato Salad

7.  Childhood Realizations

6.  How to Cook the Perfect Holiday Turkey

5.  Candy Corn Oreo Fudge

4.  Seven Layer Truffles

3.  Corn Potato Chowder

2.  You Got Peanut Butter in my Chocolate Pudding - Two Ways!

and the most read post of 2012 is...

1.  Lemon Shake Up

If you're celebrating somewhere awesome like I was supposed to be (miss you Chicago!), at a party, bar or wherever, be safe!  Don't drink and drive!  Call a cab or have a designated driver!  Etc.  Etc.  I know, seems redundant but given how many people still do it each year, it bears repeating.  ;)

I think it's safe to say we're hanging out at home breathing on each other and hoping we make it until midnight.  We'll probably watch CNN because Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve just is NOT the same the past decade.  (Well that and I've turned into an old lady who can't handle talentless hack music for whippersnappers!)

See ya in 2013!  (aka-tomorrow)

Do you have any plans for the last night of 2012?

  1. Beanie weenies and hoping to stay up until midnight LOL I will be going to Chicago myself on the 11th for a girls weekend. We will be staying at the Essex which constantly reminds me of the Hotel Coral Essex and we will be getting the all city pass to go to the Field museum and the Shedd aquarium. Its going to be a great time.
    Hope you feel better soon.
    Happy New Year!!

Then we will come home Tuesday and relax before our life gets back to the grind on Wednesday. Probably walk our doggie because she will be mad we weren't home tonight!

  5. Sorry you're not feeling well. Thats a bummer but I'm sure you'll have a good night anyway. Sometimes its just nice to sit and chill. I'm trying to decide if I want to go to my friends bon-fire tonight. (Is that one word or two?) Anyway, it'll be cold but probably pretty fun.

  6. It was quite a year. Hard to believe we're at the end of yet another one already. We may not be ringing in 2013 as awesomely as we did 2012 but 2013 is still going to be an awesome year for us, I can feel it!

  7. Sorry you guys are both sick. That's crummy, but you're together and that's what really matters. We don't have plans yet, but I guess we'll do something. I'd rather stay in and watch movies and then watch the ball drop and go to bed. Hubby says "but that's what we did last year". Yeah, I know and that's what I want to do again. My folks have the little guy for a visit though so no babysitting excuses and he really wants to go out so I'll have to go with him.

  8. Have you ever read SUAR's blog? (Shut Up And Run) She had a hip fracture a couple years ago and had to take to the pool for swimming and pool running until she healed. I know it's not ideal, but I would recommend the pool as an option if your doc says it wouldn't impede your foot healing. I hope it improves soon. Happy New Year to you and The Mr.

  9. I hope you are both feeling better soon! I'm doing round-up posts this week too. There's no shame in that. ;) I'm sure you'll be able to go to Chicago soon enough and I bet you will be glad you waited until your foot was better to go!
