What I'm Reading This Week #35
Howdy do and happy last Friday of August! I hope you had a good week and if your weather was like ours, it was FINALLY under 93 degrees. Don't get me wrong, I know sweater weather isn't here but it was nice to not have the AC working overtime (set to 76) starting at 11am every day! It was nice to not walk out to water the garden and walk into a wall of humidity so I will take what I can get. Speaking of which: With this 3" San Marzano , I shall be able to make enough sauce to cover 7.3 spaghetti noodles. 😒 Now let's get to: How to Stock Your Pantry for Quick & Easy Meals in Minutes (Ooh, I need to crockpot some black beans for some sweet potato black bean burritos.) It was an awesome day. It really did feel, at times, like the best snow day off school or something and I am glad we took full advantage of it all. That was quite a workout too so it was a healthy jaunt in the snow too!
ReplyDeleteWe got a combination of rain, freezing rain, and snow on the weekend. Because of that mix we lost power on Saturday for almost the full day. We spend that day shoveling the foot of snow we got on top of the ice and trying to keep the house and our reptile pets as warm as possible. Sunday was the time we got to enjoy the snow. I broke out my snow shoes for the first time this winter and the dog had a blast playing/jumping in the snow with us. Rain came Monday so what is left of the snow isn't much fun anymore, just slippery.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fun day! Glad you got to be out in the white stuff with glee! We have snow here from last week but yesterday's temps melted quite a bit of it (our front yard has almost no snow now while the front and side yard has lots still). We are now in cold temps through the end of the month, with below zero nights, but no snow forecasted again except possibly Monday.
