Short and Sweet Weekend Recap
Good Monday morrow to you all. I hopeth thee hath much tomfoolery to reminisce upon from thine weekend. (Damn that would be exhausting to talk like that all of the time.) We've had biblical rain all week and weekend so road tripping would've been out of the question. No one wants to drive on slick roads for hours so we were stuck at home. I am pretty sure unless it's for pizza, we're done eating out for a while. I got so ticked trying to order from a new place and all of the hoops they wanted you to jump through that I said screw it and the Mr was ticked too and said they were shysters. ($42 for what equates to Chinese takeout "bowl". Nope.) Then he mentioned a BBQ place and I was resistant because BBQ always makes me sick, without question. No guests this year, just me and Mom. I'm making the same as always. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHad a tooth extraction today so more mashed potatoes and stuffing for me and less turkey but otherwise looking forward to a quieter day and some snuggle time in front of the fireplace. We have a 1-hour family conference call scheduled for early evening to say hi - and that will probably be just enough for me. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteFor the first time we are ordering to-go Thanksgiving dinners from a local restaurant. I found out last week another local (my favorite place) was also doing them and cooking in the 100 yr old ovens... RATS! Didn't hear about that until we placed this order but that's okay. It's still local and we are grateful to not have to cook during this insane time with our hours. Even better...no dishes. LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving day without any of the family dramas that ensue with humans!
Honestly I am looking forward to this one. I know it is just us but I have had to put up with drama from extended family at Thanksgiving my entire life and this is a break. Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't wish this on everybody every year - but I am going to enjoy a totally drama free Thanksgiving for once in my life and I am happy about that! Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Let's Eat!
