Hide and Seek Weekend Recap

It's Monday again!   source I'll probably be lapsing into cartoon speak because ever since we saw that major companies are purging the cartoons of our youth we've been buying up what we don't already have.  A Scooby Doo , two Looney Tunes and another Sesame Street from our era since the Public Television that's been teaching children for decades has been defunded.  If you listen to nothing else I say, buy physical copies of your favorites and do it quick.  Prices on DVD's are going to skyrocket once these are pulled for good this year and right now you can get many between $12-60 depending on how many episodes are on each bundle or if you get the entire series.  Physical copies means they can't revoke digital rights copies you buy for cheaper when disputes pop up and someone gets their undies in a twist and takes their toys and goes home taking all of the copies you paid for with it. *stepping off of soapbox* Another low key weekend for the most part....

Last Weekend of Summer Recap

Do you ever have one of those string of days you seriously want to just drive away from the dumpster fire and figure out what to do when you get to wherever you end up?

I gained two pounds when on paper I EASILY could've lost four.  The take out people screwed up our lunch and it's an ongoing problem with them that shouldn't be when you specifically have something listed in the notes section.  The Mr spent well over two hours fighting with the internet "provider" that screwed up our line for over a month.  While we were out driving, five people cut us off in such a short span of time I wondered if we'd wandered onto a stunt driving training course by accident.  (And there's a miracle there wasn't one.)  It was just one high blood pressure, cortisol inducing event after the other and the fact that neither of us needed bail money was truly miraculous.

It was time to break out the only thing that would make me happy right now.

Great pumpkin sheet time.

Once I got those on and made some Fall welcoming lunch...

I realized the cosmic taint rubbing was going to continue into Sunday so we went to the only place where you can get away from the assholery that is mankind...the cemetery.  We talked to my relatives as we made our way around the place.  There was some nice scenery to take in other than the miles of Stonehenge.

We stopped by a farm stand that was nearby.

We picked up some apple cider, gingered fig jam that's going in a twice baked sweet potato, green beans and yellow potatoes that I'll probably make into Thanksgiving mashed potatoes if I remember to grab some cream cheese soon so I can freeze them.

When we got back, I made our second Fall inspired meal of the day.

Then we settled in with the candles for an episode of Dukes of Hazzard.

Other than that, it was just sitting and waiting for another day to pass.

  1. Kind of a frustrating weekend but at least we had some actual fall like weather to enjoy. Fall gets skipped so often lately that I am enjoying the cool breezes and crisp air. Everyone enjoy your week!

  2. I know you love this time of year! We had our 2nd annual cuzzos weekend. Normally we hang on the patio but it was a bit too cold. We had burgers on the grill and all their best homemade sides. My favorite is always stores fireside. Yesterday was just a sleepy day. Happy Monday!

  3. Oh man, I'm sorry it was such an aggravating weekend. Here's hoping for a better week! I loved the lake picture that looks like the branches form a heart. =o)

Good weekend, although not enough sleep. Gorgeous weather and felt good to wear long sleeves and not feel too hot. Temps closer to 80 this week, but I'm starting to see the colors change here and there. Get nice and chilly at night which has made the hubs and dogs sleep like champs. lol
