Ho De Doe Holiday Weekend Recap

Hey all.  I hope you had a good long weekend.

It was such a boring weekend on our end, I really don't have much to report because we were doing the right thing because I'm sick of this crap.  We grabbed takeout on Saturday which was the most we got out of the house.  That night, we did rent the movie Irresistible and while we're not fans of political anything, it was actually quite entertaining and a great twist.  (Make sure you watch the credits if you rent it.)

Oh yeah, Friday since the Mr got off early, we did run to the outdoor nursery when it was dead and got some fall plants.  I won't be planting them for a few days until we get over this hump of a heat wave.  So I know what I'm doing this weekend at least.

Sunday I fired up our final Portillo's Maxwell Street Polish from the freezer and we had our last low sodium brown sugar Bush's beans as our "cookout food."

("Ripper" style!)

Monday I had a pretty bad headache most of the day so we didn't really do anything.  The Mr cleaned the grill for me so it'd be ready the next time we wanted to use it.  I grabbed a bin with some Fall decor in it so I could get my cozy on.  I got about 70% there.  I'll post pics when I'm done.  We did LIIFT 4 Chest and Tri's week 2 and it toasted my shoulders.  We have to be selective this week.  The Mr has had to skip three workouts the past week because his lower back has been pretty tweaked.  We're trying to heal it naturally and with tricks from the chiro so we don't have to schedule a visit with him.  Roll your IT bands, kiddies!

How did you spend your long weekend? (If you got one)

  1. That dog pic pretty much sums up the boredom at times. It was still nice to get an extra day off and sleep in. And we did pretty good on the food too. I still cannot get over how good that portillo's at home is!

  2. Happy Monday! I was planning on re glazing windows and painting my trims this weekend. Turns out my brother, sister-in-law, niece, son and new gf decided to visit. These people are of my inner group that have also been locked in so I felt safe having them here. Cards, food and laughter. Felt good as we canceled our family reunion this year. We had Portillos and Chicago style pizza, 2 musts when my kiddo visits. Was fun sharing this with my sons gf as she is from NC, new experience for her. My dog was so excited to meet her, he bopper her in the chin for a kiss and chipped her front tooth, great first meet, oy.
    Have a great week

  3. We headed to the hills - it was over 100 degrees here in town, but low 80s in the mountains where we were. Did some fishing, some kayaking, some walking. We were able to easily stay outside and away from other people and it was really great to have a mask free weekend.

  4. It was a good, relaxing weekend. Got my chores done on Friday so I could relax a bit more on the weekend despite having to work all three days. I did have my first big hot flash right in the middle of the grocery store. I'm talking like Jupiter with the fire rings and looked like I'd taken a shower by the time I left, my hair was so soaked. I had my phone in my back pocket while in the store and when I took it out before getting in my car, the thing was dripping wet! i literally sweated through the pockets of my jeans! So that was an adventure. LOL Other than that, the hubs enjoyed the time off of work and we've been thrilled with the cooler temps. 60s today but tons of rain every day, which we needed. I rather like these gloomy days.
