Howdy do and happy last Friday of August! I hope you had a good week and if your weather was like ours, it was FINALLY under 93 degrees. Don't get me wrong, I know sweater weather isn't here but it was nice to not have the AC working overtime (set to 76) starting at 11am every day! It was nice to not walk out to water the garden and walk into a wall of humidity so I will take what I can get. All of those are my must haves for sure. Potato salad would have been the only extra side at cookouts when I was a kid and I didn't like it much as a kid but sure love it as an adult.
ReplyDeleteWe get 95% ground chuck, the Hebrew beef dogs. Always get poppy seed dog buns. My mom makes the potato salad, everything is chopped super fine. So fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWe have not cooked out once yet this entire year, which is so unusual because that was about 75% of our cooking no matter what the season. But schedules haven't allowed for it so far. When we do grill, it's steaks, chicken, pork chops that I make a fresh pico de gallo for (yum!), burgers, and when the temps are comfortable, I make a cheesy Italian loaf that is amazing on the grill. Tomato and onion salad is on the side if we do cook any type of hot dogs or sausages because I love to put that on the bun. I agree with Dawn...poppy seed buns all the way!
