Long Lunch Date Weekend Recap
Howdy do all. Back at the top of the week again. Why are the weekends barreling at warp speed this year? Sigh. Saturday we did what was essentially a 3 hour lunch date. I couldn't handle being around the house anymore this weekend and we live in the center of "no exciting places to road trip" central. We headed to Portillo's and there's a little park we like to walk at since it was a nice day. Then we basically turned around and headed home after being there for 2 hours. I know, a lot of time wasted for that but once we got there, it was nice to see other scenery and eat different food. What wasn't nice was the fact that because I didn't have a project or TV show for distraction, I was in a pretty heavy mental spiral. The projects have been coping mechanisms for some serious Mom stuff coming up, job worries are kicking into high gear, frustration with trying to keep all of these seedlings alive , the house being a total mess, knowing our cancell...
I so wish there was more we could do to move the bathroom project along. It's so frustrating that nothing else can be done until they do the shower install but my energy level is high right now and it's frustrating to not be able to do anything yet. Oh well I just need to be patient. Have a great weekend everyone!
ReplyDeleteMe too, though I know I have to get a move on with the vanity. Sigh.
DeleteNot one trick or treater. Halloween is a tough day for me, too many memories.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
Aww, I'm sorry. Big hugs and I hope it stings even a tiny bit less than yesterday. š«
DeleteI live out in a very rural area, so we rarely get trick or treaters. This being said, in the midwest, trick or treating is very much alive, and the small towns usually get quite a few trick or treaters. My inlaws went through 150 full size candy bards last year passing them out. I haven't checked with them this year to hear their totals.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap! I bet the kiddies love their house! That's a lotta moolah. I'm glad to hear it's still alive and well somewhere. We live in a big city so I really don't get it.
DeleteWe live out in the country so no trick or treaters. Although our grocery store offered treats for the kids. Seeing them in their costumes was great. No real plans this weekend. Hoping Sunday the weather is clear so we can get our morning walk in.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't get any visitors at all. We can always count on 2 kids coming but not this year. Bummed about that. This weekend I'll be writing up some training notes for work, but will leave everything else for Monday. Have 2 loads of laundry done, so 2 more to go. Thanksgiving list, and filing I've put off for way too long. Church on Sunday, than a nap.š I hope you guys have a good weekend of productivity and some relaxation time sprinkled in!
