What I'm Reading This Week #18

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to May.  We had a long week of getting the garage together so the Mr could finally park in it six weeks later.  We still have some work to do in there as far as purging and such but we needed to get the space useable again since it's been a holding tank for our old countertop/sink, old grill waiting to be picked up by a friend, insulation, built planters and patio table and extra fencing from critter cages.  We haven't had the mental drive to figure out how we get the shelves in order.  I think I'm going to have to look up some garage organizing articles or something because it's really overwhelming to look at it all.  If we can get a plan together to tackle it then maybe we'll have our weekend plans for next weekend as long as it's not hot yet because we don't want to be in a sweatbox. Now let's peek into: Dietitians Agree, Eating More Might Be the Secret to Your Strongest Year Ever   (Volume eating FTW.  It's been ...

What I'm Reading This Week #36

Welp, we're back from my birthday trip and I will say it is just what we needed (other than for it to be 20 degrees cooler in the beginning but I knew that going in.)  I was glad to get away from reno stuff and couldn't see myself spending this kind of birthday listening to the neighbors slam or hearing the far off hootin' and hollerin' of people at the pool.  This birthday reminds me of the huge blowout party I threw for my mom for her 50th.  People still talked about it years later and I just never even imagined she wouldn't be here to celebrate mine a mere 17 years later.  I told her this was the one I'd let her finally give me 'old lady' gifts because I didn't want anything for my 30th and 40th over the hill themed because that was ridiculous to me.  Now I'll never get it.  But I will say, just like our 25th anniversary which didn't turn out anything like we imagined our whole marriage, the Mr put together a nice party for two which I'll recap next week.

Now let's recap:

What science actually says about seed oils  (Oy, everyone gotta gripe about something, don't they?)

23 Best Prebiotic Foods to Support Your Gut Health  (Gotta fit in all of the pre's and pro's, yo and if you can't...pop 'em.)

Artificial sweetener erythritol could elevate heart disease risk  (Gee and I remember just last year they were touting all of the benefits so I ran out and got a sweetener with this in it.  Fortunately it tasted like ass so we threw it away but still.  THIS is the maddening crap with 'research'.  We are on our own, people)

Research shows why it feels like we're aging so fast in our 40s and 60s  (I definitely didn't expect to feel the way I've felt in my 40's that for frickin' sure!)

Contrariwise: Don’t Rely on Streaming  (This, my friends, is why we have over 350 DVD's.)

28 Hilarious Movie Mistakes That Ended Up Being Genius  (Scream was always our favorite unscripted one.  Mr, now that we've finally seen American Graffiti, that scene is actually funny)

Oh yeah, thanks for all of the responses on the Hump Day Poll!  It's always interesting to see how people use their technology so thanks for chiming in.

I suppose house stuff still looms.  As much as I want to put it off, I know we can't and I just want to be done.  I had my fun last weekend, this weekend is back to bidness.  Pffft.

What bidness you getting into this weekend?
