Ready for the weekend and what I'm reading this week

It's finally the weekend!

Boom chicka boom chicka boom chicka boom!

It's been a long week and I'm glad the weekend has finally graced us with its presence.  It's the first time we've not paddled at all this week because the weather has been both too hot and the pop up showers have been fierce.  It was even raining hard while being completely sunny yesterday so I guess our paddle muscles got a break this week.  (Even if we got in some good upper body workouts in other forms)

But enough about that, let's get to...

10 Weird Side Effects of Stress  (Yikes!)

8 Old School Manners We Want Back  (Pronto, please!)

18 Times Roseanne And Dan Conner Gave Us Serious Relationship Goals  (We'll just ignore everything that happened after they won the lottery)

Fabulous Beekman Boys show off their flagship store, talk business strategy  (Love these guys!)

For Every ’90s Teen That Was Obsessed With “My So-Called Life"  (Seemed so profound at the time.  As an adult, I can barely handle an entire episode.  I know...old lady)

The Metabolic Conditioning Circuit to Challenge Your Whole Body  (Looks interesting, might try this next week)

Courteney Cox, Rose McGowan, Roland Emmerich, and more pay tribute to Wes Craven  (He sounds like he was a lovely man.  So wish I'd gotten the chance to meet him)

Start Planning! 10 Best Trips to Take This Fall  (I'm ready for Fall road trips like...NOW!)

The New SLEEPY HOLLOW Season 3 Poster is Pure Cheeky Fun  (OMG, that eyebrow...those eyes ...*thud*)

Two Men Went Fishing and Ended Up Rescuing Two Kittens Instead  (Aww, poor kitties!)

ABC Family's 17th Annual '13 Nights of Halloween' Programming Event Airs October 19-31  (For those waiting for the schedule)

8 Easy DIY Fall Wreaths  (Fun!)

The Surprising Treatment That Cures Swollen, Itchy Mosquito Bites  (SOOO using this next time we do a night paddle!)

You Can Actually Poison Yourself If You Eat Undercooked Beans  (Courtesy of the Mr)

'A Charlie Brown Christmas' Honored with 50th Anniversary Stamps  (I will be buying about 1000 of these for my Christmas cards for the next 20 years!)

Tomorrow we're doing my birthday celebration with just me and the Mr and I don't have anything planned really.  It's going to be 90 degrees and a total humidity bucket so I don't foresee spending a ton of time outside.  I'm having birthday cake so that makes me happy.  :-)   Oh yeah and it's a holiday weekend and the start of college football so time to start cheering on the young'uns for the season!  Oh and pumpkin spice everything should be flooding the stores this week.  My favorite time of year is here!

*booty poppin' dance here!*

What are y'all into this weekend?

  2. Heading for the hills for the weekend. Can't wait until school's out and I get to leave.

I'm so trying that Vicks cure for mosquito bites. I've been covered in them since June and I've had enough.

  3. Awww, man! I saw the Charlie Brown stamp thing, too, last night and I was going to surprise you by mailing you some booklets! The jig is up. LOL!! I went on USPS to look at the different pictures they will have and they are so stinking cute!! You enjoy that birthday cake missy! You and your Mr. will have a great day, despite the uber-crappy weather. "Supposedly" by mid next week the temps are supposed to be in the 70's, but I notice every day they push it back a little more. Grrrrr...

This weekend is all about housecleaning, dog cleaning, running errands, FINALLY buying a new shower rod (hoping to find a double one at BB&B) and getting up my Longaberger shower curtain again after multiple years of just having the liner up. I came home to the news that the hubs got laid off from his job along with 98 other people, so as of next Tuesday we have no insurance. Less than a week after I'm done with my job to go take care of mom and he loses his job. I feel like the dark clouds keep circling the wagon, but I'm surprisingly very calm about it. It's truly something I have absolutely zero control over and I just have to keep moving. The story was on the news because that's a huge local layoff and then this morning he tells me that Green Giant is closing because they got bought by somebody so all those people are going to lose their jobs too. What an ugly, sad mess. I'm telling you, a tiny cabin in the northwoods is sounding better and better. A shotgun and a rocking chair and I should be good. Snort!!!

Have a super duper weekend my friend!! Fall is here!! It's too darn hot to go to the orchard (although they opened last weekend) to get my apple donuts, but I know I'll go within the next two weeks. Something to look forward to with all the autumn stuff out.

    1. Aww, thanks for the thought on the stamps but especially after that news about the job don't you even think about it missy! I wish your family could just catch a friggin' break man!! Email me the deets and plan going forward. I feel just horrible and wish I lived closer so I could take you out for a night of forgettin' about it all.

Oh yeah and it's never too hot for apple donuts.
