Long Lunch Date Weekend Recap
Howdy do all. Back at the top of the week again. Why are the weekends barreling at warp speed this year? Sigh. Saturday we did what was essentially a 3 hour lunch date. I couldn't handle being around the house anymore this weekend and we live in the center of "no exciting places to road trip" central. We headed to Portillo's and there's a little park we like to walk at since it was a nice day. Then we basically turned around and headed home after being there for 2 hours. I know, a lot of time wasted for that but once we got there, it was nice to see other scenery and eat different food. What wasn't nice was the fact that because I didn't have a project or TV show for distraction, I was in a pretty heavy mental spiral. The projects have been coping mechanisms for some serious Mom stuff coming up, job worries are kicking into high gear, frustration with trying to keep all of these seedlings alive , the house being a total mess, knowing our cancell...
Talk about a food coma! Looking forward to leftovers still though. Have a great weekend everyone!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a great turkey day!! Ours was wonderful - cooking was a breeze because I did a good prep job this time. I washed dishes as I went so by the time we ate, there were just a few things to wash and put away. The kitchen was clean and the food put away by 3:35pm! I was free the rest of the day/evening to enjoy a short nap and noodle around on my tablet and watch tv. Very relaxing.
ReplyDeleteNo weekend plans other than working and getting out the Christmas bedding and some house chores and grocery shopping. Not going anywhere today thought. It's currently on 19 degrees and rather windy as snow is starting to fall. Glad we put the wreaths outside yesterday!
Enjoy a nice relaxing holiday weekend guys!
Thanksgiving was just the two of us. Quiet. Of course I ate too much. No Black Friday shopping for us. Not in the mood to be in crowds.
