What I'm Reading This Week #26

Well you made it to Friday!  I don't know where y'all are but unless you were near Glacier National Park that got snow this week, you were probably boiling in your own pudding to quote Charles Dickens.  I do not dig 90 degrees by noon and it feels like everything is frying left and right including us.  Most of the week I had the 50% shade cloths on the veggies to attempt to save as much as I can.  I need to get the next batch of lettuce in the shade planter to see if I can successfully grow there over the summer since it never gets direct sun.  I told the Mr the other day I feel like nothing is in the right place back there.  I have a lot of containers and I don't know if I need to put some of them on a little ledge since the 5 gallon buckets take up so much room or not.  The zinnias being in a long planter on the fence were a mistake but they were only put there because I had so many extras and didn't want to chuck them.  I have a few struggling...

It's Halloween weekend so basically, it's time to put up the tree.

I keed, I keed.

I feel like we haven't gotten to enjoy Fall at all this year so I'm in no rush to put up the tree but I would expect come Tuesday you're going to hear your first Christmas song of the year if you haven't already.  Sorry.  šŸ˜•

Now let's get to:

Here’s How to Supercharge Your Body’s Natural Detoxification Process  (Some good info and I guess we need to prioritize dark roast of Satan's water.)

This 20-Minute Mini Band Workout Targets All Your Muscles  (Perfect as the busy season approaches and you need to find time to do shorter workouts!  I should probably blow the dust off of ours.)

This Common Spice Can Reduce Inflammation, Improve Blood Sugar Control, and Promote Better Brain Health  (Oh, I'm definitely covered.  Pretty much nothing I won't put this on.)

17 Healthy Slow Cooker Chicken Recipes for Easy, Nutritious Dinners  (It's slow cooker season!  WOOT!  What do they say instead of woot now?  Eh...let's go with weeee doggies!)

The ā€˜Wet Foot’ Test Shows You What Type of Arches You Have—And It Takes 10 Seconds (Sooo if it looks like Sasquatch just walked by that means I have flat feet, right?)

109 Jokes About Adulting That May Comfort You Knowing You’re Not Alone  (And in case you really want to procrastinate you can check out my faves.  #6, 9, 12, 27, 34, 37, 47, 49, 50, 60, 61 (amen), 74, 78 YES!, 107.)

Clever Dog Uses Leaves To Purchase Treats At School Store  (OMG this is the sweetest thing ever!!!)

It's not Halloween in these parts without this old school gem  (Click the stomp button to put it out.)

I've given up on trick or treaters so we didn't even buy candy this year.  If one shows up, I've got some Werther's in grandma's frog canister.  Never mind, they'd probably egg the house.  I do want to get in our most favorite spooky flicks like Fright Night and Scream which we hold out until Halloween weekend for usually.  I'm sure we'll find some kind of tomfoolery to get into.

How about you?  Any schpooky stuff planned for the weekend?

  1. We are the least prepared ever for trick or treaters and yet I still highly doubt we would get any. I have a toothbrush and some floss from my dentist that I could give out to at least 2 kids, which would be a record, so we could become THOSE people. They'll talk about us their entire lives! Have a great weekend everybody!

  2. The little boy by the tree has the BEST look on his face!! I did up Halloween bags in case the new kids on the street happen to show up, but it's doubtful. If they do, great; if not, the hubs will bring the bags to work on Tuesday. It's a working weekend both at work and then in the garage to haul stuff in the basement so I can bring home the rest of the stuff from the storage unit. Will probably take me 2 weeks to complete (I hope that's all), so I need to do the heavy stuff on Sunday and Monday to get it over with. Enjoy your Halloween movie marathon!!
