Fingers Crossed Weekend Recap

Good Monday to you fine party people!  I hope you got to enjoy the mid-May weekend.  We kind of did.  What was not in the brochure was a nice power outage Friday at lunchtime just as the Mr was trying to cook his egg in the microwave.  While he hooked up the Bluetti's to the fridge and crockpot (kicking myself for not doing that Thursday), I put his egg on a small cookie sheet and put it over two candles and covered it with another cookie sheet.  It might take 3 hours but if you think with the price eggs that we're losing that thing, nope!  😝 Welp, I was finally able to transplant the wee (and not so wee) seedlings to their permanent homes.  I was basically forced out there due to the power outage Friday but thankfully it wasn't oppressively hot.  I got the clematis' potted up to bigger pots , sweet peas transplanted, my herb pot together and the zinnias and snapdragons in the wall planter.  Thankfully the electricity came back on by 4pm so...

What I'm Reading This Week #17

Knock knock.

Who's there?

Gladys.

Gladys who?

Gladys the weekend!

Oh roll your eyes all you want.  How long has it been since you read a good old fashioned knock knock joke.  (The Mr says...not long enough!)

It's been a pretty slow week around these parts which I will more than welcome!

Let's get into some eats for the week.

Monday was Ricotta Lemon Ravioli with roasted broccoli.

Workout was 21 Day Fix Core.

Tuesday was veggie enchilada bowl...but on a plate.

Workout was MBF Lower Body.

Wednesday was shrimp stir fry with cauli-rice.

Workout was 10 Rounds Lower Body.

Thursday was Beef Bolognese Ravioli with low sodium marinara and spinach salad.

Workout was 3 mile walk.

Now let's dive into...

8 Things That Are Usually Cheaper Before Noon (Hmm, will have to remember a few of these.)

Lesser-Known Facebook Privacy Settings You Should Double-Check Right Now  (Good info if you don't want anyone outside of your circle of trust in your business.)

How to DIY a Faux Brick Wall (Mr...be afraid, be very afaid!)

Why Browsing Zillow Feels So Good  (Because 'anywhere but here.')

Play-Doh's New 'All Mixed Up' Product Preemptively Jumbles Your Clay Together  (There is nothing "irrational" about parents wanting to keep the playdoh their original colors.  You know damn well those same kids are going to meltdown when they want to play with it again and there's no consistent colors.  Buy them this hot mess instead.)

10 Timesaving, Money-Saving Hacks for Shopping on Instacart  (Kind of brilliant, particularly the last tip.  It would save $10 over the usual place I use!)

We're hoping to get out and about this weekend even if it's just for a drive.  We've gotta enjoy the weather before it starts getting gross hot which is going to happen sooner than I like.

Any shenanigans on tap for you this weekend?

  3. Had a busy morning of grocery shopping (done by 9:40am -woot!!), vacuuming upstairs, twining broken down cardboard boxes, taking the dogs to the river then to the vet to pick up dog food, and now doing laundry. Worked for hours on my kitchen yesterday and I'm about reading to hit "checkout" on a console table for the kitchen to help clean up the scattered stuff that's there currently. The rest of the weekend is working and finishing up laundry, with some cooking thrown in.

I hope you guys have a fantastic weekend!!
