What I'm Reading This Week #14
Annnnd we're revving into Friday. source I must start with a teary goodbye to Val Kilmer. No lie, three days before he passed I got the song " How Silly Can You Get " from the movie Top Secret in my head out of nowhere. I hadn't seen a reference, heard anything about him and definitely hadn't heard that song in 20+ years. I said to the Mr "I wonder how Val is doing?" then I soon got my answer. I remember seeing Top Secret at the drive in with Mom when it came out. When Real Genius came out on HBO, it was one of the few movies my Dad and I bonded over, is in my top five movies of all time and is the Mr and I's love language after I make him king of the winter carnival. source Anyone who followed Val's career and personal life over the decades knows he got a little out of the box and didn't settle for norms which also included his approach to his throat cancer. He lived authentically himself which is something we all hope to say when o...
Good job!! Have a fun weekend, looking forward to all the details!! (It's a working weekend for me but I'll still find time for fun things!)
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Can we be cautiously optimistic for next week? Enjoy the weekend. I've got Relay for Life tonight, walking all night and selling some goodies as a fundraiser. It's for a good cause and worth it, but it's going to be a long night and a longer tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the loss two weeks in a row!! Enjoy your road trip--and coming home to the power working! We got our deductible back from our accident (yippee!!) yesterday so that was a lovely surprise. We are taking in someone's dog (bad neglect issues) to see how she gets along with Finny and we'll see how it goes from there. It'll be an interesting weekend that's for sure.... =o)
ReplyDeleteA killer workout that's already done and now laundry. Exciting weekend, huh? :). Contests on the loss and hope you have a great road trip!
ReplyDeleteGreat results!
ReplyDeleteMost of my week will be devoted to house projects. (What else is new?)
Safe travels!
The kids and grand kids are coming out to swimļæ½ļæ½
ReplyDeleteWe took the canoe out yesterday. We have a trolling motor for it and were glad we brought it yesterday the wind was really pushing us around. We paddled as well. Saw a first for me: a couple came in a double kayak and brought their dog. I need to google him, but it was a tallish, short-furred, blue-eyed water dog (clearly! ;) and he was wearing his life vest with the handle on the back. Well, he hopped around in the wearer, getting wet and getting psyched, but once the couple was ready and the wife got in the front, he got really excited and swam out around the kayak. Then the husband got in the back. As I stood there thinking, how are they going to get him in the kayak, they shoved off - the dog swimming out in front!! That dude was still in the lead, slightly to the right side of the kayak as I watched it disappear around a bend! Swimming with his vest on, smiling - I swear! COOL!
ReplyDeleteToday is unplanned as of yet ;) Hope you guys are having fun!! Way to go on the loss!!!
