Summer Holiday Weekend Recap
Hello and happy Monday to you! Did you melt this weekend? My Lord it was hot. And what do you do when you're us on a hot weekend? Dig out a tree obviously. 😑 Remember the pic of the tree from last week after the landscapers hacked it up? It went bye-bye. We were going to attempt to save it to possibly see if my friend could plant it at her new home (even though it should be done when dormant.) Well, after determining the roots attach to the Earth's core, we had to scrap that idea. We tried to get out early enough but it wasn't. We hacked off the top in sections using some really great pruning shears that made that job super easy then the Mr lobbed off the top so we could begin on the roots. We bought a shovel called the Root Slayer and I will say it did an amazing job getting through most of it. Neither of us are at our strongest right now so despite knowing we could've continued with chipping away at ...
This is awesome. I loved it and can't wait to have it again soon. I highly recommend it!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it! I'll have to bust it out again for ya soon!
DeleteThis looks like something MY Mr. would appreciate. I was surprised that the soft-boiled eggs looked like they worked well in it, but my DH would probably want his hard-boiled. The habanero cheese is what grabbed my attention though.
ReplyDeleteThe soft boiled eggs made it creamy but still lots of good texture like a hard boiled.
DeleteThat looks delicious! I think you need to be my personal chef. :)
ReplyDeleteFor the right amount of green, you've got it! HA!
DeleteI can't wait to make this to break me out of my lunch rut! Thanks for posting it!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome!
DeleteThat looks fantastic! I love egg salad!
ReplyDeleteI hope you love this one too! Something for the person that likes a little kick!
DeleteCant wait to try this when I get home. Thanks for all the tips Mrs!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy mama!
DeleteI seriously need to not read these things when I'm hungry!!! That looks SO good! :-)
ReplyDeleteMake some pronto! :)
DeleteBeautiful photo! I have that plate too. :) I've never tried sprouted bread before--does it taste like regular whole wheat bread or is it different?
ReplyDeleteI lurve that plate! If it wasn't so dang expensive to replace my whole set, I would!
DeleteI've had the Ezekiel brand before and found it to be a little dense for my taste but Trader Joe's Whole Wheat tastes almost the same as regular whole wheat bread. Sprouted is supposed to break down a little easier in your digestive system so I've recently made a point to start buying that over regular bread for that reason.
That looks really good. I'm thinking maybe lunch today. I've never seen habanero cheese around here, but I bet pepperjack would be pretty good too.
